Katiecat (((HUGS))) sweetie; I am so sorry for your loss.

Dizzy great that the missing diamond turned up; I know how gutted I felt when my engagement ring went missing for several months, so I can well imagine you being devastated. Can you get a jeweler to fix it for you?

I'm slightly more human than I was yesterday; must pace myself today though; Cassie Dog will be arriving about noon tomorrow, so I want to be on decent form to give her a good holiday, particularly as I suspect she's still missing her partner-in-mischief Bailey.

Meanwhile Mr LW has been and decluttered a vial of blood to the Vampire Lady, on GP's orders; and we're waiting to hear back about his chest x-ray - he's been told Dr A will call him to discuss.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Huge (((hugs))) for everyone under the weather and also for you, Ionafan. It was a mistake, and it's sad that it upset someone badly but they will recover and all will be well again. Katiecat, there's nothing anyone can say that will mitigate the shock of your loss, but we are all here for you if you find yourself in need of a bit of support. So glad you found the stone, Dizzy.

    Welcome Katzen!

I've been finding that the blitzing of multiple frogs is moving on apace now, but that Mondays are entirely taken up with finishing them off by taking stuff to the post officce, dry cleaners, attic, CS, wherever. Things are looking a lot better all round here.

I didn't say anything sooner because this is embarrassing but the reason OH needed to prune his wardrobe is that there is (or rather by now 'was' I hope) that has been gently ponging away, probably for 20 years and it has finally caught up with us. We've cleared out the whole thing, sent the things he wants to keep that need to be dry cleaned to the dry cleaners, we're working our way through washing and ironing everything thing else he wants to keep, and the *flingage* is marvellous. I just wish it hadn't taken this to make him deal with his bulging cupboard. Even the shelves have had to be flung, and I'm insisting he gets cedar planks to replace the smelly MDF boards because we may just as well do it properly while we're at it. How we don't have moths is a miracle. So, we're busy but there is a serious reduction in pong at last and I think that qualifies as mega-flying.

Two rooms to turn around and the shower room needs a bit of a drubbing prior to two musicians arriving on Friday and then we're all set for them.
    Better is good enough.

I'm running a couple of days behind this week, but here's what I've done from Monday's list.

Marvellous Monday - Kitchen and Dining mess-no-more
    Level 1
    [STRIKE]Remove everything from kitchen sides
Wipe all small appliances, jars, caddies and containers [/STRIKE]
    Clean Worktops and splashbacks
Clean sink - and clean any drainers and sink bits too
    [STRIKE]Wipe table - change cloth is used[/STRIKE]
    Dust chairs and table legs
[STRIKE]Put back what needs to be out; put away what doesn't[/STRIKE]

    Level 2
    [STRIKE]Empty and wash bin
    Wipe down cupboard fronts[/STRIKE]
Wipe sills and frames - paying special attention to spidery hidey-holes
    [STRIKE]Dust any DR furniture[/STRIKE]

    Level 3
    Clean windows
Vacuum curtains and blinds or wipe
    Sweep and mop floors

    EXTRAS
[STRIKE]Check your drains - are the grates blocked with leaves? Pull out drain covers and immerse in bucket with household soda and BOILING water to degrease.[/STRIKE]
Sort through a food cupboard or pantry. Use up, throw or consolidate as appropriate.
Put STAMPS on your shopping list for christmas cards.
[STRIKE]Choose a BIG appliance to clean - DW; Oven or fridge (bet no-one picks the oven lol)[/STRIKE] Cleaned the washing machine.

I'm keeping on going though, it's just a bit tricky at the moment. (Go away black dog!)
    Take care all
    D.
  • Katiecat I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I can't imagine what you are going through.

Dizzy, so luck you found your diamond!

Iona, an honest mistake is just that, a mistake. If you've owned it and apologised then the best thing you can do is move forward, don't keep beating yourself up over it.

Cleaned the lounge and vacuumed lounge and hall today and cleaned bathroom and loo. Things are mostly straight here. I've another basket of clothes to sell, which is bugging me, as is the charity box. Must shift them. Frogs haven't hopped anywhere either. Hurumph.

:( So sorry to hear your sad news KatieCat. You must be feeling utterly devastated. Thinking of you xxx

Busy day again here with concreting, trench digging, tree lopping, price negotiations, schedule confirmations, future work planning and emails, emails, emails...

You're right ATB - I need a holibob...Just not yet, while the house is being done. I'd spend the whole time worrying things were going right :rotfl: Well done for avoiding a playground punch-up!

Did some serious tidying of DSD's room in preparation of 32 boxes of "stuff" being returned from storage tomorrow. For now, her room looks amazing - this time tomorrow, I predict a bomb site.

Christmas dinner booked for us all as I refuse to try and cook for 6 over a candle. I don't care how expensive it was. So there.

Still completely drained after the ring incident. It looks like one of the claws has worn through and broken. I'm going to talk about an alternative setting that is a bit more robust. Honestly, I cried more over that than I've done this last year over the house!

Hurrah for pong reduction Honey Bear. I think DH's sock drawer might have something mummified inside. Either that or there's a mouldering pair of damp football socks nearby...mmm...yummy...
  • I've just about kept on top of the daily stuff this week, got a few hours at home tomorrow between clinics so hoping to do a bit of catching up then!

    Evening lovely peoples

I've been busy, as my DS arrives from Ibiza for a week on Saturday and I want to spend as much time as possible with him. Seems to go past soo quickly when he's here.

So I have all the washing and ironing up-to-date bar the bedding to do Friday, but that I definitely don't iron. Wash, dry, fold and put away :)
All the paperwork is done apart from a tiny amount of filing.
All recycling is sorted and boxed ready to go Friday, when I go shopping (can just add bits directly)
    Shopping list done for Friday
Have cooked and frozen some meals for next week
Spare room will get a good clean t/m and the bed made up
All the balcony boxes and planters have been emptied and will give it a sweep on Friday

Marvellous Monday - Kitchen and Dining mess-no-more
    Sweep and mop floors

Triffic Tuesday - living room and hall
Vacuum, sweep or mop all floors
    Shake mats
    Extras
    Sweep the step

Sending everyone some hugs, hope poorlies are recovering, sticks for any BDs, but afraid keeping spoons for t/m

Hope you all have a thrilling Thursday
