Which ones have the ability to record whilst parked up? I recently had my car keyed, causing extensive damage. I'd love to be able to catch the culprit should it ever happen again.0

You generally need to get them hard wired into the battery for them to continue recording along with a delay switch.
Mine is set to continue recording for five minutes after I park.
If you want to catch a vandal or hit and run, bear in mind the viewing angle of a front view camera may not pick it up.
I have a two channel system (Front facing camera and back facing camera) which would pick it up.
You MAY be able to pick up a vandal if the system you have includes a shock sensor eg it's set to record if the system detects a bump. Some systems allow you to adjust the sensitivity.
When you buy a system, consider a system you can review clips, download clips and adjust the settings via an app on your smart phone. This can make things easier for you0 -

You might catch the culprit as he approaches your car, if you activate motion detection."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
