I was tempted to install one , in fact won one in a raffle which is still unopened .
I just don't fancy having a cable running down my windscreen also having to set up and remove each day in case gets nicked.
If I had the money would have one permanently installed as have had a couple of abusive road rage incidents which I would have loved to have captured.0 -
I have front and rear dash cams permanently installed. Wiring is hidden. Bought Thinkware F770 from RAC to include installation at my home.
I bought mine after car was damaged whilst parked . It has parking mode, so hopefully will record if and when that happens again.
If you do buy, I would suggest you don't waste money on one where the video is so poor you will not be able to read number plates ."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Don't get one. Double-edged sword. If you're suspected of being at fault in any incident the police will no doubt seize the footage.
Of course, in the surveillance society in which we live, we'll all soon have them anyway, and then it will become an offence to tamper with the footage, or even delete it.
Am I right in thinking that most lorry drivers are now under total surveillance as they go about their work?0 -

I've got this one.
Hard installed for £30, no visible wires.
The wire attaches to the mount and the cam just slides on and off for easy removal.0 -

Glad to see you're as paranoid as ever.0 -
Watching the videos on line, they tend to be used by impatient unforgiving ars*oles who make mountains from molehills.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

It's already an offence? You mean if you were to tamper with it in an attempt to pervert the course of justice? Otherwise, at least for the moment, I guess you can do what you want with it.
Safer not to have the footage at all IMHO.0 -

That'll be who the police should seize it anyway. To secure and preserve evidence, to stop people deleting it.0
