Exactly what I thought LL when I read Dave's comment - the boomer bashers would be having a go.
There is a difference between necessities and luxuries and some of us (yep...me for instance) are still in the process of getting the necessities - yep...even at my age:(.
I doubt many people have specific "pots" of money for different things these days anyway. I would think most of us just lump together income from all sources. Followed by the "good with money" ones of us take out bills and any mortgage/rent we are still paying first (and...yep...many of us are - even in this agegroup!). Followed by taking out what we need to live through from week-to-week. Then, finally, we get to see if we actually have any of our own money left for ourselves (translation in my case of that tends to mean - "Now what is the next bit of work that needs doing on my house?" before I actually take anything much for myself:().
Just because we're boomers does not mean we are "rolling in it" - darn it...0 -
I don't think anyone's seriously going to have a go at me for staying fit, providing for myself as long as I can and [STRIKE]helping the economy[/STRIKE]helping the ....err..German economy.moneyistooshorttomention wrote: »Exactly what I thought LL when I read Dave's comment - the boomer bashers would be having a go..

Reading some of the more vociferous anti boomer rhetoric it would appear that some of them begrudge us the very air we breathe.

Haven't got ours yet. Just keep checking bank account. This is only the second year so don't know when we're supposed to get it. We haven't had a letter.

Forget the blue rinses - remember = we are the generation that doesn't believe in "getting old":rotfl:.
Cue for me at opticians recently - picking out the most fashionable pair of glasses in there as my favourite ones:rotfl:0 -
The only blue rinse I'll get is if the sheep dipping goes wrong. :eek:pollypenny wrote: »Particularly one who thinks we fork out for blues rinses every month! :rotfl:0 -

Yes, they do. They certainly don't think we should have had a vote in June. However, I'm not a 'boomer'. I was 10 years old when the 'boom' started in 1945.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

I remember the "bashers" saying that and thought "They can't really be talking about me can they? - I've presumably still got about 20 years to go - as I'm not old enough to be at deaths door yet...." So certainly quite entitled to my share of the say about this....0
