Aw, Slowly, that's tough! Do you like rooibos tea? I hope you get well soon!
When I try to be caffeine free I find rooibos a nice alternative. Of course now I need to source loose leaf rooibos, as no doubt the teabag contain plastic.
Note: if anyone is annoyed by the one obvious moron among us, just report the post, eventually if enough people do it, it will go away. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Total unreconstructed tea bag afficianados here - although I do use one bag for two cups. We drink Punjana , but I thought that on moving to Yorkshire after all that time in NI, we would have to change brands or get ds2 to post it. But there it is in Mr M's - right next door to the Yorkshire tea.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

In a spirit of Scientific Enquiry (which I think is grownup for simmering curiosity) I had a dekko at what M&S are purveying as tea & ma foi, there is an impressive choice & it also appears very prettily boxed. (This week - who knows about next?)
On the whole, the one I went into had an impressive choice just in Small Boxes - a larger store might have the same choice but in larger portions which are of course contraindicated in the boutique sized venues. So I came away empty handed.
I also had a quick gawk in TK Maxx - not offhand a purveyor of tea last I'd thought about it but no - I did them an injustice & they had natty Elephant shaped (ish) boxes of tea. I admired but, even at their prices, I puttered on my way.
A Welsh colleague (with a Chinese bride) says I should have bought up the entire M&S selection - they routinely send care packages of M&S tea to his in-laws, & visiting relatives "drop in" at the start of the holiday to ensure supplies can go home... Me, I respect his handling of tricky relatives, but Not only am I usually a Coop 99 drinker, but I've just done a tour of Chinatown supermarkets & bought a stack of "exotic"-to-me teas.
Does anyone have any advice on the right teapot for a specific sort of tea & why?0

Oh DFV I am sorry but I could not give advice on teapots, we use the same one for all the regular teas, and make herbal directly in the mug. That's the extent of our teapot use, I'm afraid.
Having tested Sainbobs loose red, I have to say I had no problem, quite liked it, now will have to see if the Marks gold is remarkably better. If not, won't bother spending the extra money and will stock up on the Sainsbobs, get nectar points and it's prepaid on my gift card at a 5% discount.
Intrigued by a few mentions of coop 99, will try that too next time I am near a coop. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Ah, Slowly, that's gone now, but when DH was employed in a public service, one of the perks was that he could buy gift cards for all sorts of places at a discount. I used to top them up regularly. But then he had to retire on health grounds. Just befor he did, I topped up a few cards by large chunks of money, I thought it would give us a better return than the paltry interest on our savings. Marks 8% off (so a pound costs 92p), sainsbobs 5% and bandq 11%. Now I have enough money on the cards to last us until I get my occupational pension next August! But no longer available after that, I'm afraid. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

I don't drink loads of tea. I have a cup with my dinner (lunch), and i'll have a cup with my tea (dinner), but at breakfast or during the day it's coffee. And i buy whatever is on offer, last time a couple of big boxes of TyPhoo. But i think they're a bit weak, although i don't like strong. Next time i'll get another brand.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

SailorSam I used to be a fully paid up coffee drinker, and it had to be strong espresso, being Italian. But for health reasons I had to drop the caffeine and started drinking weak tea, I know it also contains caffeine but nowhere near my old intake.
A teabag or a tsp of leaf tea will make a pot just the way I like, very weak, but I love the flavour, so I like to use a brand I like. I have tried the basic ones and they are just too dusty. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
