I've not used an O2 Classic SIM in a mobile data device but they are still available on eBay and are still charging 3/2/1 rates. Worth a go? Quid or so to purchase, tenner to top up.br1anst0rm said:So I'm back to square one, and I'm now faced with a set of much more expensive and less appealing options if I want to have a mobile connection and data on that tablet device.
Thanks, flaneurs - as you say, at those rates and given that I'd be a relatively light user, that O2 Classic SIM seems to be worth a go. I'll try it and see what happens!

You give your card details to every retailer you ever use you card with, whether online, over the phone or in person at a POS terminal. If it's storing them you're worried about, you can remove card details online after paying.twopenny said:Thanks Flaneurs. I looked at 1p mobile before but seems I have to give my card details to a fairly vague company and I'm not happy with that.

Where please?mongoose2009 said:you can still get a 3 data reward sim 3/2/1
EDIT: Found SIMS on sale on eBay, description says 200MB data free each month which is no longer the case. No claim/description about use as "normal" call/text/data SIM nor of rates charged.
Sold as pack of three (?) for £5.99, if it were 1 for a quid I'd risk the purchase just to see if the SIM will still activate/what the rates charged are.0 -

I noticed this yesterdayI will contact them but would you say that I am correct in saying that if I take this offer up there will be no charges for incoming calls to me and the only cost for the whole year is £36.00 and no topping up throughout the year?Paul0

1 Year SIM Requirements
No need top top-up in the 1st year then just make at least one £10 top-up every 120 days.
I guess there might be a way around that ... cancel and then re-apply maybe?

I have a 1p Mobile SIM, used as a standard PAYG. That 1 year talk/text deal is available to me as a "Boost" so there should be no need to re-apply for a new SIM, just purchase a new instance.
As you say, best to confirm all this w/ 1p.0 -
At the end of the 12 months you can add another year of unlimited talk/text (+250MB/mth) for £36 by adding a boost.Paul__UK_2 said:Paul__UK_2 said:flaneurs_lobster said:1p Mobile have unlimited talk/text (+250MB/mth) for a year for £36.Yes ... 😔 Sad to hear that. I've been using the data reward SIM too for years. Not had the text yet but now that I know it's coming I'll be prepared to swap to RWG (250 MB of data + 50 minutes and texts) per month.Mellick said:
