I pay £10/mth for 8gb; 4G here and abroad; unlimited text, calls and unrestricted use in all EU countries + others.
And this on a cancel anytime basis. No contract just monthly DD payments. Why hasn't MSE found this one? Maybe they didn't offer sufficient commission?
Or maybe because it lists the same package for £9 from three.

Anyone had luck in negotiating iD mobile down? Im paying £10 per month for 8gb, but considering moving if they are not flexible
  • Looking at the deal mentioned on MSE in the last few days with mobiles.co.uk for Vodafone SIM only 5GB data at £15 a month but with £90 (or £100 with MSE code) cashback which they'd send you by cheque.

Looked at it yesterday and the offer seemed to be there, went back to look today and the cashback offer seems to have changed from them sending you a cheque to a pain in the neck redemption offer where you have to send them your bill every 2 months to claim the cashback which you get in batches of about £19 each go.

Has anyone else noticed this change?

May not be the right question. I've just finished a 12 month deal with that retailer (first time I've used them in a few years but have used them hundreds of times in previous years for cashback contracts). They're as bad as ever. Rejected my first claim for absolutely no reason, paid the next two late and were a complete pain. The last claim was faster (but still relatively slow and by cheque) BUT their webvsite had a fault for a few days so I couldn't claim as soon as the bill was available. Naturally I took immediate action each time and got my money - but there is a far better place where payment is within a week of a claim (despite the t&c allowing much longer) and by BACS. No hassle whatsoever and much cheaper deals (for unlimited minutes at least rather than data so it does depend on the details of the contract you want). As with all cashback contracts though - you have to understand everything about them and the risk of the retailer going bust before you get paid down the line.
  • Yes I am trying to get the Vodaphone one and cant see where to put the MSE code in. Did you get anywhere Tartanrug? I do have a Vodafone account but this is for my sons phone.

Thanks, I don't think I'll bother with this deal then, its a bit better than my current one (3GB data about £9 something a month) but not worth the pain this new deal sounds like.

I didn't bother going any further with it after they changed the cashback so you have to send off your bill every 2 months

To be fair, you only have to upload it onto their website (unless it isn't working as happened recently). Sending every two months on a one year contract has been the norm for years anyway.
  • Whats the best EE Sim only deal ?
  • Just Called my current provider ee for a sim only deal . They quoted £16 p.m. for 1 GB unlimited call & texts. I reported the best deals from this post that matched my needs and they dropped it to £8 p.m. with an extra 1 GB. Well pleased. Thanks MSE
