I have had the same phone with Virgin for 8 years but got a new SIM 4 years ago. The last update has almost filled my storage space. I'm paying £6.19 a month but noticed that Virgin are doing a SIM for new customers for £6 a month. I'm thinking of trying to get this (I recently got a better than 'new cusomer ' deal on broadband so fingers crossed.) Are the updates stored on the SIM or on the phone? No point getting a new SIM if I still don't have the storage space.

I'm getting very confused trying to find a SIM only deal, contract or PAYG, that isn't massively expensive to call/text from UK to Europe. I thought that the latest 3 mobile offers for a 4G data, unlimited texts/calls at £11.0 per month looked good until I saw the cost of a UK to Europe call at £1.25 min. The crazy thing is if I go for their PAYG offering its 25.2 p per minute into Europe. Anybody got any advice for a sensible deal?

  • I have asked vodaphone about this cheap deal 8gb for £10.00p a month they say that there is no deal at that price. the nearest one is £16.00p per month. So who is right?

Considering it takes you through to Vodafones website and the deal is there I'll vote for MSE.
  • I can confirm the deal exists, £10 per month for 8GB and I have just received my new SIM Card.

I am a very low data user (currently with Smarty £5 per month +£1.25 per Gig of Data) and I noticed that SKY are doing unlimited calls and 2Gig of data for £6 ( plus £15 back via Topcashback) = £4:75 per month - with 3 year data rollover, I am not currently a Sky customer, however this seems a good deal to me - but Sky are not mentioned at all on the Moneysavings Expert best deals pages, is there something that I am missing.

You have to be a Sky TV customer to get it initially at least. I was scheduled for a TV cancellation so phoned them regarding my nearly 12 month old mobile deal and without even mentioning a PAC they offered to remove the link to the TV for life (as long as I kept the service. They also gave me (again without asking) a £1.50 discount for 12 months on the £6, 2GB deal due to the previous idiot agent messing something up. Their mobile agents have been brilliant for me.

It may be worth calling them and see if you can get it without a TV contract.

Edit: normally without a TV contract the price is +£10 on the monthly cost which is why it's not included in the MSE guides.

Just phoned Sky Mobile and they confirmed that the £6 2Gig offer is open to new customers - complete with data rollover - so seems like a good deal
  • I live in Spain but need a UK mobile number.

It won't be used very much at all so it needs to be a PAYG sin only deal with no roaming or monthly charge.

Which is currently the best deal please?

    Thank you.
