  • Ooo thank you to you too inneedofmoney :D We're going to do Disney and Universal as we felt that was enough for a first visit! DH wants to stay at a hotel as we are both disabled so having access to a pool and lots of entertainment for the kids is a high priority as we could be stuck round the pool on a few of the days. But seriously ANY tips on places to eat, shopping, or anything else you think an Orlando newbie beeds to know will be most greatfully received. We're also hiring a car for the entire trip as its just easier for us and if we need to hire a mobility scooter (which is near enough a certainty) it makes everything easier :D

    Potting news, do I have any? . . . ummm no :o nothing potted, not a penny! :o[/QUOTE]

    M youngest is also disabled. I managed to get a disabled pass at all the parks, though some were better than others. Found the universal pass a lot more workable than the disney pass, I think because we went around thanks giving and the queues were really long. My boys like their pancakes so we had a few meals in Denny's and ihop, cheap and cheerful but the kids loved it! |I didnt get to do much shopping, myself, 3 boys and thanks giving didnt really amount to a good time shopping! If you want disney tshirts/clothes though I recommend target/walwart, is a lot cheaper than buying from disney! I had a car, driving is a breeze, if you have a blue badge take it as all the parks recognise it, but you cant use it for outside the parks, you need to get one of their temp disabled badges for that. At the parks you can park in the closest spaces with your badge. If you can do chek in online for your car, do it and then head straight to the parking lot at the airport, if you queue to check in for your car they will do a real hard sale on upgrades/insurance etc and many have been caught out with their sneaky tricks. There are some good forums on facebook too.

    In potting news, I cleared out change from my purse with was about 50p :rotfl:

    Ooooo Sue! what a fab total :D:D:D Yay for us!

    DreamerHelen, thank you so much for your offer about Disney :) and lots of hugs to you for your dear Gran :( I will send you a pm in the new year to pick your brains, for now look after yourself and your family xx

    inneedofmoney - ooo I always wanted to visit Dennys since my eldest became obsessed with The Santa Clause :rotfl: we have a little issue with DS being a coeliac so even more planning needed to make sure we can feed him over there :eek: I shall def keep walmart and target in mind, we've been to Aussie and Target is huge out there! (one of my favourite shops for the dollar bargains :D ).
    I had read something about a parking permit for disabled as meant to look it up as had no idea what it cost or what it was for so thank you for the reminder! And we shall make sure we check in for the car online if we can, after a 9 hr flight i am not the nicest person to deal with and may offend the pushy american sales person when I tell them to give me my flipping keys and get out of my face :o

    Still trying to find a hotel . . . it seems DH is very interested in talking about hotels, not so interested in actually reading reviews or watching youtube videos about hotels ;) funny that . . . :rotfl:

    On potting news . . . (as ive taken over the thread with Disney :rotfl:) I have a few £'s to pot so will chuck those in now :D

  • That's a great total :T:T:T:beer::beer::beer:

    I think I potted a couple of £2s this week - went to Edinburgh for the day (yes, really) with my Mum on Thursday with some cheap train tickets and pretty sure I brought a couple back with me.
