Tearex - Your No is 584. it’s wonderful that you and your BF have saved so very well between you. You’re onto a great thread here I can assure you!
List Maker - Your No is 585. A Demi John sounds perfect for saving, let’s hope you fill it by November 1st 2018!!
A brilliant amount potted 32b3!! :j Wow, you putting it like that I’d better get a wriggle on as I’ve a new first post to get ready before early Friday morning!!!! Still, thanks for the reminder. Looking forward very much to seeing your amount on Wednesday!!
Ah thanks Lucy! Though after having phoned the Dr on Friday morning he reminded me that it’s nothing to do with the AEDs it’s because of the hiatus hernia I have and the fact that so many tablets will affect that.
Sorry to hear that you also need AEDs, is your epilepsy controlled? Mine isn’t and never has been hence the problems. You and I have quite a bit in common, age, same number of years married... epilepsy etc! Take care of yourself! xx
Hello again Jellyb! It’s so good to hear you’ve become so inspired by us all, by MSE too no doubt. So many members return at the end of the year saying they haven’t done as well as they’d hoped, but.... at least you’ve saved and that itself is of such great importance! Pledge to to better in 2018 and do so!
Re the special coins DancingUnicorn: You must do what you’re happiest with, listen to the words of the others and see what’s best for you. Though if you keep them for now at least you’ll then know you have them for all that’s appealing about them, but.... also should you ever need them to spend - they’re still there! :T
We all have to do what we’re happiest with, Florence! My Aunt always collected coins and stamps, not for the monetary value but just because she loved them, and that’s what we’re talking about here. Be happy! Great news of the Isaac Newton coin, your Boyfriend’s Dad is obviously canny but with a great sense of humour! :rotfl:JUST TWO DAYS TO GO folks!!
I think the term “if I were you” meant you’re far better off doing as I say rather than what you think, Ant! I used to hear it a lot when I was young, still do at times.Mind you, it’s a pretty good way of giving advice ....though whether it's taken or not is quite a different matter!
I’m not at all surprised at you collecting coins, jakes-mum, and why not. Why give away something that means a lot to you; that’s possibly what you’re DH thinks when he’s about to hand money over to you!!! :rotfl:
Only 3 more sleeps left now, Saverupper!!!! Excellent news about your latest potting, green work!!
It seems as though we’ve all been shocked at the rate that Declaration Day has come upon us this year, Lynne, with amazing speed! Well done with your last £20!!!
Enjoy a lovely evening and great Tuesday folks. :j Don't forget your pots need nourishing!!
Sue xx

Can't believe it's opening week!!
I've just come back from my first-ever Convention, purse a little lighter, definitely no £2s lurking in it, but with a few more international friends who are all fans of a certain TV show and its stars. Sadly Mr C couldn't be there because he's filming in Glasgow, and yes I confess I was only really going for him, but I ended up having a fab time anyway, got some great photos with other guests, fell a little bit in love with silver fox Rupert Graves who is a great sport and really throws himself into meeting people and giving them what they want in their photos (in my case a big Lestrade/Sherlock hug), and who also made my friend's day by answering her question during his talk and being very supportive of her personal project to raise brain tumour awareness. I also had my photo taken with the legend that is Una Stubbs, amongst others, and sat in Sherlock's chair and the sofa on the actual 221B Baker Street set. More importantly I met a lot of internet friends from the US, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, Canada and of course the UK. I said it would be a one-off, but am already planning to go again next year (although Benedict would have to be nailed-on 1000% attending ideally) - not least because hubby said "and you're going again next year?" because he thinks the event I went to last year was the same thing (it isn't, but who am I to argue? :rotfl: )
Back on the topic of the SPC, I've got another £70 or so from eB*y to include.SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

Completely forgot about the above post. I was asked whether I could remember why my savings pot had less money in it than expected.
I've gone through all of my messages today to check what I've said previously and it has reminded me that I used some of the money to pay in cash for work I had done. I said it would show as virtual sealed pot money which I could add to my sealed pot money when declaring. It's with my cash back money which I also add to my sealed pot money.
I also added in a note that I would add money saved at the end of this year as I've budgeted in advance. However, looking back, I had money saved at the end of 2016, so that will be added and any money left over at the end of 2017 will be added to next year's pot. That makes more sense.
Looking forward to tomorrow!
