Well done, jakes-mum! I was on a bit of a roll getting shiny new £1 coins but now they seem to have dried up, but I'm happy there are some chinking their way to a happy new home in your pot! I did get my hands on a lovely £2 coin today though, exchanged with my Mumma for two dusty old ones. And I enjoyed hearing a similar lovely !!!!!! noise, followed by a wee thud as it landed on my little plastic mat of fivers :D xxx

Why thank you, though talking of mothers, went shopping with mine last week and she had a £2 coin and she PAID FOR HER SHOPPING WITH IT!  , I was like 'Mum!!! what are you doing??' but alas, too late, till lady had already shut her till :(

Off to bingo today for another free game of bingo (they do like to keep giving us these vouchers!) so hopefully (mum and I we keep living in hope) there will be a win of some sorts for the tin :rotfl:

Oh jakes-mum, I share your outrage! Such coins do not belong in tills, and it breaks my heart to think of them lying there crying softly wondering if they are ever going to find a pot to call home. Let's just hope that all is put right in the world with a win at bingo! I have everything crossed for you! (It's making typing very difficult but it'll be worth it if you get some goodies for your pot!) And make sure you give Mum a firm talking-to so she never makes such a tragic mistake again! xxx

Hello again Sealed Potters! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Still I'm here now and it looks as though you've all been saving extreme savings being achieved, brilliant work folks....keep up the amazing work! :j Best wishes to all those who aren't well in any way. Here are {{{{hugs}}}} to you all to get well soon! :grinheart

That's so wonderful to read, Cazzie, it's fantastic seeing the incentive that SPC gives you, all of us in fact! Keep saving as determinedly as you are now and who knows how quickly you'll be able to acquire Cazzie's pad, a cruise too, though what's wrong with going in the retirement years?! :D If we're living that much longer now you'll still be a very youthful 60 something, and who knows what your comping might bring in!!!!

So sorry to hear that you too have been suffering from mental health issues, I think many of we women do if we were all honest. As you say, William & Harry are doing marvellously, let's hope it continues nationwide. BTW. You're welcome to the plastic £5ers I HATE THEM!!!!!

I'm so pleased things are starting to look a little better for you now, Vicky! :kisses3: One step at a time and you'll get there. Your description of some good days and some not so is just how I remember my times of depression from years ago, so just be happy to accept the good ones as they come and you'll get through it. :grinheartGood luck with your reduced hours if you're allowed them. Re DH's trail having come to a stop....can't you make a hole in his cash pocket!!! :rotfl:Seriously I'm only joking!!

Many thanks Lynne. I've had it poked and prodded and earlier had a call from the hospital to say they think I should go for hand therapy....whatever that entails. Though the entire right hand is damaged as a result of a nasty fall 6 years ago since then none of my fingers has been straight and able to lay flat!!! Now the added break to the 4th finger!! It's a bit like Quasimodo's back!!!! :(
Well done with the £10er Lynne and I do hope you get your finger sorted out soon. :D

Potting three shiny new pound coins today! I'm so looking forward to having a full tin.

Great going with potting the shiny new coins, seekingthelight!!! It's a wonderful feeling to have filled a pot and know you have some money saved it really is, so keep going!!!

Thanks jakes-mum. :D It'll be so good to see more of you now, I've really missed seeing your name come up and all that your getting up to! Well done on the blanket, I bet it looks beautiful!! Whatever is a C2C??! I know what Frogging it is....I'm forever doing it while crocheting DGD's baby blanket. Not very good at it though but never was with going back in a row of knitting. I'm still having problems with the tension but the hand doesn't exactly help matters! I should think your DH would make you a blocking board too, thoughts of YOU buying one for £23 don't sit well at all. I guess you're on the Crochet (Bella Coco) board of FBook? Some folk churn out amazing works of art there!

Glad you've got your passport back, you won't know what to do with yourself after you're back from America!!! BTW. I had such a giggle "seeing your Mum" daring to pay for shopping with a £2 coin!!!!

Hey potters, not posted for a while as (to be honest) I don't think I'd have any money! Anyway, I did end up with about £4 to pot yesterday, so in it went.

Fancy you letting such thoughts enter your head, Money Rollercoaster!! Excellent news with your £4 savings!!!

Oh for goodness sake Cazzie! :doh:_pale_ She's bad enough with those £2 coins as it is without you making it all ten times worse with a terrible sob story on behalf...of the COIN!! - don't encourage her for Heavens sake!!!

Ah someone sane siju!! Very good potting!!!! Keep going strong - yes I know you will!

I hope you enjoy the rest of

Lovely to hear from you, Sue-UU! As an Occupational Therapist, I would definitely recommend giving hand therapy a try, those specialists can work wonders and have you doing things you never thought you'd do again! It's encouraging to hear you are recovering though and lovely to see you on here!

I'd just about calmed down from £2-coin-gate and thought I'd cheer myself right up by getting some lovely change for the pot picking up a few groceries on the way home - but did I have any pot material in my change!? Did I heck! Just a massive handful of stinky, dusty, soon-to-be-defunct £1 coins! My only hope to rescue the day is that my Mum still has the lovely plastic fiver she offered me the other day now I have the change to make the exchange! Otherwise the pot won't get fed, and geez, it gives me gyp when I don't feed it!

Come on, jakes-mum, I'm relying on you now to bring us news of a bingo win! Or at least news that your Mum has now seen the error of her ways! On a recent break with my wee bro on the Isle of Man (very beautiful place) we tried bingo as a fun night out and I have to say, aside from the stress of keeping up with 6 cards at a time, we had a great evening - and I won £20! (Yes, I shared it as per a pre-arranged agreement!) We have a local bingo hall that we have never visited but we had such fun I may have to save all these stinky old £1 coins and spend them on a night at the bingo! How cool would it be if we could have a Potters' Bingo Night!? Actually, I'm not sure the world is ready for that... but boy, I'd love a night on the town with you lot! Spotting roadkill on the way, comparing change, winning cash for the pots... think what fun we'd have!

OK, I got a little carried away there, but it stopped me mourning that tragic £2 coin for a wee while... *returns to mourning...* xxx

C2C stands for corner to corner blanket, so you crochet it on the diagonal :D I learnt to crochet from Bella Coco! following her youtube channel, didn't know she had a facebook page, will have to go find it!

Ahh we already have our next adventure in the planing stage, we're talking about going to Japan (just me and hubby, dont think the kids will want to walk round Fabric Town with me for hours :rotfl:) plus the mini cruise as well :D We also want to go bak to New York and as we have just applied for our ESTA's would be a shame to waste them by not going next year ;)

Grrr My mum! that poor £2 coin, alone and forlorn in the cold hard till instead of in my nice warm tin! :rotfl:

Alas! there was no win for me or my mum, the amount of times we were 1 to go and that blasted caller would not call our number! plus she couldnt find the free tickets so my free trip ended up costing me £12 after book and food :rotfl:

Oooo I would LOVE a SPC bingo night! that would be AWESOME!! :D Yes I still mourn that poor £2 coin as well :( BUT, after buying my bingo book the bloke gave me £10 change in £1 coins  and only 2 of them were new!  soooooo 2 x £1 coins for the £2 and £1 coin tin :D

Well, I'm glad someone got some pot-able change today! I should think so too after no freebies and then no wins! I'm loving all your holiday planning too - every so often I'll browse a cruise website, usually when I've had a terrible day and could really use a laugh! You're right though, be a shame to waste those ESTAs, after passing all those tough questions on whether you're safe to be let in!

You know you wanna get those trainers on, 32b, me and jakes-mum will cheer you on all the way from our bingo seats! I might even twizzle a glowstick around my bingo dabber and wave it in the air as you turn the corner towards Buckingham Palace for your big finish ;) xxx

Hi VickyA. I'm so sorry to hear you've been suffering in what sounds like a very similar way to myself. I've just had the worst few months of my life suffering with mental health issues, and am now having to fund private CBT myself as the services in my area are sadly lacking. Once I'm as well as I can be I plan to do what I can to change this, being a health professional as well as a patient (I'm thinking Cazzie's Crusade - what do you reckon!?) And perhaps the delectable Prince Harry could be my sidekick! I've always loved the young Royals but what they are doing for mental health with their Heads Together campaign is absolutely fantastic. I am very slowly coming out the other side but I send you all my good wishes that things continue to improve for you and you have more good days than not so good days.

Ah, Cazzie. Thanks. Yes, Cazzie's Crusade sounds absolutely perfect! The young royals are doing amazing things for mental health. Much love to you.

Thanks Sue too. Your kind thoughts really do mean an awful lot - in fact everyone who pots on here.

Anyway, back to potting. DH slipped up the other day and had £2.15 lying around including a £2 coin!!!! Ooooooh yes. Other potting also done - mainly silver bits. :)
