Thank you 32b, and excellent potting by you, and the rest of you lot too

Just treated the tiny bro to dinner for lots of recent achievements and some quality bro-sis time (fortunately pre-budgeted for!) Came in much cheaper than expected which was nice as we had a really lovely meal. Was hoping for a nice new fiver but got loads of tiny change instead but there were two shiny new £1 coins in there so they will be taking up residence in my pot tonight!

Nearly the weekend! Hope the sun shines for all of you and hopefully lights up some roadkill :D xxx

Hello again Potters! Sorry I'm later than I'd hoped but there's been so much going on here. Still I'm here now and it looks as though you've all been saving extremely well, well done everyone....keep up the good work! I hope everyone had a really lovely Easter and that this weekend will be a good one too! :DBest wishes to all those who aren't well in any way. Here are {{{{hugs}}}} to you all to get well soon! :grinheart

Many thanks Cazzie! Y'know its hard to believe you're back after all this time, darn good though! Wonderful potting too!! :j

Thank you so much, Westie, it's the finger and ribs that are causing most problems but little by little..... :D

It's great to see you back Sue. We all behaved ourselves :D it was worth a try with the £5ers eh? :rotfl:

    £6.80 potted today.

Not sure about that 32b3, I'd love to have seen you telling that to the teller at the bank!! :rotfl:Great savings as always and all the best with the comping!!! Don't forget to do comping here on MSE as jakes-mum has won a fair bit including breaks away!!

Very well done Florence!! I hope you have an amount that you're so pleased with to give for your friend's Wedding and don't forget to add it onto your siggy!! :D

Great potting mrs-moneypenny!!!! Re the seizure and fall, to be honest after all the years I've had it (life long) I normally don't take a great deal of notice except when it's really nasty falls such as the Butlins one. My poor DH and kiddies have been through it over the years and it's them I feel sorry for as the majority of the time I know nothing about it till I come round. Things could be so much worse though and I'm grateful they're not!! ;)

Ah 50p is better than nowt MLE007!!

Great to hear you on the mend Sue - sounds very similar to the fall I had at the beginning of the year, as I had cracked ribs and broken little finger, so I can empathise with the pain and discomfort. Hope you soon feeling more comfortable.

Sorry I haven't been more supportive on the thread during your enforced absence but I have also been a bit poorly.

Long story short, it seems I brought back a nasty viral infection from my holibobs and had a heart attack last Saturday. They weren't sure what virus I had, as I had some strange symptoms and had come back from Europe only six days prior, so was put in total isolation for four days.

Anyways - I am now home and just finishing course of strong abs. Brain is like blancmange, legs still stuffed with straw and sleeping hours and hours as I'm soo tired.

Think I have to see the doctor in a week or two and meanwhile on low aspirin and blood-thinning drug. I hope they did finally find out what it was as I'd love to know what tried to kill me !

    Lx

Oooh Lynne you've really had a dose of it one way and tother recently! I'm so pleased you're getting better but it must have been horrible at the time! Could it possibly have been the virus that caused the heart attack, doubt it but...?? Take great care of yourself - especially your heart!!! My finger would have been much better had it been taken notice of at the time but the Snr Dr said it wasn't broken so she just taped it to the middle one. After 2 weeks I took it off and it's all hanging down!! I felt a lot like holding the middle one up to them I can tell you!! :rotfl: It's been x-rayed properly now and I have to go to a special clinic (sledge hammer job maybe!). Take great care! :kisses3:

Well done MrsShazbat, the lady from Boots too bless her!

Hi jakes-mum, good to see you to talk to, though a little more often would be brilliant! :p I've no idea what the devil a fidget toy is, though I'd guess it's something to "play" (fiddle) with?? It'll be a good job once her toe's operated on, a lot less painful too!
Brilliant work with the £250 and well spotted the 1p!!!

Aha! So you and Cazzie are saving up for cruise holidays too....Mr UU & I also!! :j Our DGD has been on 3 and absolutely loved every minute! I've always suffered from travel sickness but I've had some pills recommended so I really want to go for DH's sake as it's something he's always longed to do!!

How weird you are with travel sickness, 32b3, I think that beats me!

You're welcome seekingthesunlight, it's so lovely to have you with us. Great work saving, you'll be so proud of yourself in November!!:D

Ahh bless you Observer, thanks so very much indeed. Really pleased you dropped by, keep saving - hard!!

Thanks a lot Vicky, your thoughts are so appreciated. How about you, are you feeling any better yet?? Well done with the saving, but don't forget DH's usual trails!!! :rotfl:

    Very well done Chutney!!

Another £15 for the pot after DH went shopping bless him!!! :kisses3: Also he found a very old coin in the lane on Wednesday, an 1800's one which we need to clean a bit to reveal exactly what it is!

Enjoy fantastic weekend, folks. Keep feeding those pots well!!! :D

    Sue xx

Lovely to hear from you Sue-UU, and thank you again for the warm welcome back. I can't tell you how lovely it is to be back here and participating properly and it really does make me want to get more for the pot so I can jump on the board and share it with you all, and get a great total come November 2nd! I only wish it were for a Cruise Fund - perhaps I can enjoy one of those in retirement (knowing my luck that'll probably be about 90 by the time I get there!) But I'm happy to be building my wee Emergency Fund and getting myself in a nice strong position to purchase Cazzie's first pad!

Nothing to pot today sadly, BUT it's all good because nothing was withdrawn and nothing was spent. But over the weekend I am hoping that from the few little purchases I need to make, I'll be getting some shiny new £1s, £2s and £5s - and of course I will be stalking the streets for glints of precious roadkill! Otherwise, if anyone needs me, I'll be in town annoying sales assistants by paying 99ps with £20 notes! :D

Love to all of you precious potters, I'm off to spend the evening comping my way a little closer to my first million! :) xxx

Ah, thanks Sue-UU. Still have good days and then some not so good days, but the CBT is beginning to have a positive effect. I've asked work whether I can go part-time from September, but we'll see whether that's possible.

A couple of old £1 coins potted today. Sadly DH hasn't left a coin trail for a while. :( I obviously haven't taught him as well as I thought. :rotfl:

Hi VickyA. I'm so sorry to hear you've been suffering in what sounds like a very similar way to myself. I've just had the worst few months of my life suffering with mental health issues, and am now having to fund private CBT myself as the services in my area are sadly lacking. Once I'm as well as I can be I plan to do what I can to change this, being a health professional as well as a patient (I'm thinking Cazzie's Crusade - what do you reckon!?) And perhaps the delectable Prince Harry could be my sidekick! I've always loved the young Royals but what they are doing for mental health with their Heads Together campaign is absolutely fantastic. I am very slowly coming out the other side but I send you all my good wishes that things continue to improve for you and you have more good days than not so good days.

Sorry to hijack the board a little there, potters. Just want to send out big love to all of you struggling with any aspect of health, physical or mental or otherwise. We're a little bunch of warriors here, aren't we!? What are the chances we can get those cruises on prescription!? :) xxx

    Good evening

Whilst we are all the in charge of ourselves I have a confession to make. A couple of months ago I bought a big ceramic piggy bank and so I open the tins I had already filled to put the money in the pig. Whilst I was cutting my way into the tin with the new £5s in i I cut three of them in half longways, should I count those 6 halves as £30 instead :D:rotfl:

32b!!!!! I hope you've still got those parts-of-fivers as I just came across this:

    http://!!!!!!/2mg7AXk

    And I quote:

'In fact, even if a note's ripped, smashed or otherwise vandalised, as long as there's enough left to identify what it was they will swap it for a new one.'

    All hope is not lost!

Now, how far are you from the Bank of England...!?

Hope there's some good potting going on today for all of you - I'm sure I can hear clinking every now and then! ;) xxx

Any bank you have an account with should accept it even if ripped/damaged as long as you can still see the serial number on both halves.

Then they will bank and send back to BOE for you, as part of damaged out of date or irish/scottish notes.
