  • Well I've now got an account which is showing as an Flexclusive Saver Issue8.

But with no interest.....so much for it being added on the 30th!!

I've have been able to open a new Flexclusive Regular Saver though.

After raising a complaint in the early hours of yesterday NW called today.

'Technical error' is the phrase that kept being repeated. No clue when it will be paid.
  • My interest has been paid!

I called them yesterday to check when it would be paid. The person on the phone was insistent it would be paid on 31st December despite me reading the T&Cs to him. He tried to tell me I'd 'benefit' from an extra 30 days interest by keeping my money in there. I asked him to clarify the amount of interest and of course, he said 0.5%. I was careful not to laugh out loud!

I emptied the account and closed it by sending them a message online, asking them to move the interest to my current account. I also opened a new Regular Saver.

When I logged in this afternoon (around 5.30pm), the interest had been paid into my chosen current account. The closed saver is still showing but I imagine it will disappear in the next couple of days.

The longer we wait the better, as interest will be backdated!

I find it incredible that Nationwide are still saying the interest will be paid one month late but will add it manually now if you ask them.

    Surely that cannot be right.

Just checked my account and interest has still not been added four days after it should have been.

Nationwide should now do the right thing and officially inform everyone what is going on.

    Really?

The advisor stated to me that the interest (on the missing interest) would accrue at 0.5%.

Therefore I'm losing out as I have plenty of other places to put the interest I am missing above this 0.5%!!

I'll be looking for NW to make up the shortfall.

    No interest on mine yet.
New flex regular saver opened yesterday & showing on-line today.
I did message Nationwide yesterday about the interest & got the technical error response.
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

Maybe NW has sorted it out now and all future maturities will go ahead smoothly!

Even if you'd room in a 5% paying account, the "shortfall" is only 2p/day.

So if they pay it on Monday, are you really going to demand 8p? Or be honest and say the best you could get elsewhere was 3% and settle for 4p?

Mine seemed to sort itself out overnight; interest now paid, account changed and new flex reg successfully applied for. Thumbs up to Nationwide
