I think you are so angry / stewed up about this, that you are not reading the responses. If you are, then you are picking and choosing what you read. Please calm down, re-read, and give this some thought.

I've already agreed that water whilst queuing would have been good; but having not been there, I don't know how feasible this was - did they have water available? were shops open to buy it?

Have you tackled TC on what contingency measures they have in the event of a hurricane in a hurricane-prone area during hurricane-season? I suspect they have a "disaster plan" although it might not have been sufficient for what happened; but was their plan put into action? Were there failings?

Equally you were on holiday in a hurricane-prone area during hurricane-season. Did you have contingency measures? Did you ask about the hotel or TC plans in the event that the hurricane arrive with more force than usual? Or were your expectations that 5* AI would continue to offer the same level of service if such a disaster happened?

I do think you have call to go back to TC and ask them to re-consider their offer; but you need to be clear about their failings on this occasion.

No shops there but got a drink of water hours later as you can imagine with 900 people around the lobby was nearly impossible to get a drink.

OP, it is always disappointing to lose days from an expected holiday but if the reason is an emergency situation then you really do have to go with the flow. I speak from experience, we lost several days some years ago due to a hurricane when we were in Florida. We didn't even have contact with our tour operator, as we were villa based. We simply followed what the locals did, stocked up on food and drink and holed up for four days, with a radio on to keep up with the latest info.

We accepted that we had chosen to go in hurricane season and had to take the consequences of that decision.

You were taken to a place of safety which is surely the most important thing, and yes, it is regrettable that your holiday was affected that way but things happen that are beyond anyones control.

I think the reason for the nasty comments is your attitude, you seem to be demanding everything happens just as if there had been no hurricane and emergency evacuation.
As stated you chose to go to a hurricane area in hurricane season and are then surprised you had some disruption due to a hurricane.

What advise do you want? How to sue TC and get loads of compensation?

think you will just have to chalk this one up and thank goodness you all survived safe and sound if a little thirsty.....(next time always make sure you have some water with you)

Doesn't it tell you anything that you aren't getting any support or sympathy at all from any of the posters here?
We really do not all work for TC. In fact I doubt anyone who has replied to your thread does

I think Tigsteroonie's post had great advice.
Take a step back, rethink exactly where TC failed in their duty of care to you and decide what you want from them.
