We travelled with Thomas Cook to Cayo Guillermo on the 28/09/2016 for 2 weeks staying at the iberostar Playa pilar and after the first week we were evacuated to the hotel melia jardines de rey due to the hurricane Matthew. After eight hours in a queue to get a room which had no bedding, water or phone. The hotel was a disgrace and not the 5* luxury we paid for. We lost 3 days of our holiday in the awful and chaotic hotel. We made our complaint at the hotel to the Thomas Cook reps who were frown in from the UK due to the crisis. On our return to the UK we contacted Thomas Cook customer relations and emailed all our evidence (photos etc...) and after 14 days to be told that they would offer us 50 p.p in vouchers which I think it's a insult. Could anybody be so kind to help us with this matter? Many thanks in advance regards Damian

I am fed up of arguing with you people as it looks like you all work for Thomas cook!!!!!!! Have a nice sunday and make sure in the future you book a holiday with the brilliant and only THOMAS COOK. Good luck!!!!!!

    Mine was a serious question.

Could you have bought water nearby?

    Or were you really waterless?

Because experience has shown that where a poster is unhappy with the responses they are getting, they have a habit of removing their original post. That then makes the thread confusing for those who come along later in the day, and wonder what it was about/asking.

I noted that the original post had not previously been quoted in any response, and so I quoted so as to reduce confusion later.

    HTH.

I also asked that question and it's been ignored. Go figure :p
  • If you wanted water you would have to come out of the queue and then queue at the lobby which there were 100s of people and then start queuing again st the back for a room. It would be nice from Thomas Cook rep to organise water for those in the queue rather than him sat at the lobby bar drinking by his self. Is that acceptable?

To be fair to the OP. If you need a company like Thomas Cook to sort out your travel arrangements you are going to need a fair bit of hand holding when things don't go according to the glossy brochure pictures......

Err couldn't one person go for water while the other stayed in the queue?

So one of your family/group stands in the water queue while you were in the room queue

    Don't be ridiculous!
Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean they work for the company you're complaining about.

And using excessive punctuation marks doesn't get your point across any more strongly.
If your complaint to TC was anything like your posts on here, no wonder you didn't get anywhere.

I asked you - very early in the thread - a number of questions.
You were too busy banging the !!! & ??? keys to bother to reply.
