We eat a LOT of cabbage - Mr Cheery just grates it (sometimes with carrot) and mixes maybe bit of cider vinegar, tiny bit of olive oil, salt etc. So fresh amd lovely and goes with most things0

I've been eating red cabbage slaw twice a day...
Adding a bit of carrot, bit of red onion, bit of coriander, lime juice, tahini & oil. Don't forget they last for AGES even just sitting around, so there's no rush to use it up. Failing that, post it to me or Cheery

ooh, cabbage in the post! :j :j
If you'd rather not post them :rotfl: I remembered I'd been reading about someone preserving cabbages just the other day

It seems this lady just soaks them in salty water for a bit, shreds them and then freezes. Not sure what happens to the colour as hers were green!0 -

How about kimchi? Never tried it but I have a recipe!
Same principle as sauerkraut in preparation. So, not for me.

Good Morning :hello:
More disturbed sleep - can't remember what my dream was though. Perhaps I have just got a guilty conscience..............
It's grey, dreary and dank here today, so we're having to work hard to see the sunshine. However, I'm sure we'll find it.
There are a few bits and pieces to get from up the high street. I've made a list and we'll pop up there when BG awakes from their nappette.
Tea this evening will be l/o Morroccan stew from an age ago, that has been residing in the bottom of the freezer ever sinceI have already got it out to defrost. There isn't alot of it, so there will be cous cous to accompany, along with any other frozen veg I can lay my hands on.
Tea last night used the 'on special offer' cod fillets I got from mrT the other week, the last of the oven chips from there (won't be purchasing them again - ugh, just ugh!) and some mushy peas and a quarter of a lemon. Simple to prepare and filled our tums.
We've left it too late - I think - to purchase our breakdown cover using mrT vouchers. So I think that we're reverting to paying it 'in full' and then we'll use the mrT vouchers to shop instore. OK, I know that that doesn't represent the most cost-effective way to use vouchers, but we take forever to save these damn things up, they all have different expiry dates on them and they are getting to be more hassle than they are worth. mrT is not an everyday affordable place for me to shop anymore, and even - as illustrated recently - if I have a 'money off £XX spend' coupon, I struggle to purchase things from there that do not cost anymore/cost less than elsewhere. I do like some of their baby clothes, and purchase items from there. I think I'll save the CC vouchers to help with those type of purchases. BG always needs some clothing that is 'new to them' and pickings from chazzers are currently thin on the ground.
Right, having proved I'm not very good at this MSing mularkey, I had best vamoose

You are EXCELLENT at this MSE malarkey Greying, and don't you forget it!
I often let vouchers pass without using them, even on occasion the J)hn L3wis ones that get me a free cuppa and a piece of cake without spending anything at all! Shocking I know, but they require a special trip into town...
I'm not sure I've ever spent enough in T3sco to get vouchers - partly cos Mr Cheery does most of the food shopping and flat out refuses to use any type of loyalty card :rotfl: But I do regularly get them in the co-op, and then completely forget them unless I go back round and use them straight away, because they're all for daft things like 25p off bread but only this week.
No point making yourself stressed about it :kisses3:
Hope you find some sunshine today!0 -
Wise, supportive words - as ever - dearest Cheery. And whilst I agree with you whole-heartedly about 'not stressing', perhaps being in the environs of a 'Money Saving' website isn't perhaps the most sensible thing when you're not actually making the attempt to do things in the most cost-effective manner
As has already been said by an equally wise MSE'r this week, there are parts of the forum where you will be hung, drawn and quartered for not being froogal mcdoogal on a moment by moment basis...............................

Aw Greying ((((((((((())))))))))) I hope you can feel safe within your own diary :kisses3: I understand where those people are coming from, but I really believe that not using your t3sco vouchers in the most efficient way possible is NOT the same as frivolously 'wasting' dosh. You are doing *what you can* with where you are right now and that is the most important thing xx0
