  • Monday, Tuesday and today we're all nsds taking me to 6 so far this month. No exercise done as struggling with tiredness due to nights drawing in etc.

Had an idea to involve someone who has been a bit dis-engaged recently (she lives with some severe problems and had a crisis about 3 weeks ago). Wondered if the 'Christmas frenzy' was making her feel even more isolated so asked if she would like to make a little felt brooch. She opted for 'sewing' over 'glueing' and then asked how to sew. Another sewing novice now doing very well.
Sometimes it shocks me how many people of various ages don't know some basics when it comes to crafts, especially when it can be such a calming activity to partake in.

    Food £103.71/£285
    Travel £79/£185
    Xmas /200
Entertainment 14.4/100 (built into mini break & Xmas shopping, budgeted & Planned, hotel already paid for)
    Toiletries /0
    NSD 4/13

Had to buy some top up food shopping which was missed on Monday's shopping trip but fingers crossed we can make do now till Tuesday, food wise. Also purchased weekly bus tickets but have firmly kept hands in pockets today, so a NSD claimed today!

Fingers crossed another one planned for tomorrow.

  • Back from swim club and the shops - spent £24 on food but £14 of that was the turkey. Have also done some "c" shopping online today so that I get first dabs at outlaws wish lists. If you buy H&sbro games at T3sco direct and spend £40 you get £8 of points which can be exchanged for rewards. Worked for me because nieces and nephews (we have lots) all wanted family games. We're saving our points for a couple of years so we can use them on Merlin annual passes - by the time we have enough Ds will be tall enough to go on all the rides :)

Anyway - got some work to finish so had best get on, Love LAGL xx

    Good morning!

Feeling a lot better and on track again :T. Today will be another SFD (number 8). Was tempted to go to the local wool shop as I'm out of two colours that I need for christmas craft. But I'll wait till tomorrow when I'm out for a wee top up shop anyway. Will stretch the milk a bit tonight ;). We'll go over to FIL on the weekend. Hope to be able to take food with us for dinners and my christmas crochet project for when the men watch footie or golf. mothernerd & massa1982, sometimes wonder why people can't sew or crochet etc as it is normal to me to be able to and to have been taught as a child, we even had it in school (I'm 38). But then many people must still be able to do those things as haberdashery is selling well I read recently.

Finally caught the mouse last night (dark chocolate did the trick).

Defrosted pre-cooked meatballs for all of us, so just need to whizz up a quick sauce tonight.

They started putting up the christmas trees :xmastree: in town (no lights yet) and it made me realise that it's only 6 weeks till we're off, yay.

Calling hope the heating gets fixed soon, bitterly cold here.

    See you later

Thanks Massa1982 and Thrifty but unfortunately still no heating, missed
    B. Gas engineer by 5 minutes so much for them calling before they arrive.
Will try again this afternoon and just hope they turn up and fix it. Wrapped up warm but damp clothes everywhere.

Annoyed with myself today didn't realize 12 months since took out BT broadband and line rental so bill shot up to 38 pounds this month - usually on top on these things. Will have to start shopping around anyone had Plusnet ?

Will try not to spend today - don't seem to be succeeding lately. Received another 10 voucher for surveys yesterday. Trying to keep for xmas food shop.
Love the xmas tree Thrifty starting to feel festive.

Thrifty - I think your stovies are similar to what we call a hash in these parts.

Bob/LAGL - this year for the first time ever I have saved all my Tesco CC vouchers and my nectar points to spend on food and drinks for Christmas, I should also get some Co-op vouchers too as I'm an energy customer.

Mothernerd/Thrifty - my Mum used to do all her own dressmaking, soft furnishings, embroidery, knitting and crochet and never taught me how to do a single one of them. Several years ago I went to nightschool to learn how to make my own soft furnishings, I have my own machine but I've never tried dressmaking. I can do a basic knit stitch but have never actually knitted anything.

Did the grocery shop last night and DH came too which always shoves the bill up. No money will be spent today though.

I made two ebay sales yesterday and posted them both out. After fees etc I had just short of £12 which I transferred to my CC, we are debt free but there is a small balance on there from a recent purchase of winter cycling bits.

I recently negotiated a discount with Sky and this months DD is less than expected so that money has also gone to the CC.

I also listed a load of stuff on ebay yesterday, one has a bid already.

Glad the kitchen makeover is going well XSpender

Hope you get the heating fixed soon FMess - brrr!

Hope DS is better soon, Bob

NSD here. Exercise of Zumba and lots of flights of stairs where I do voluntary work :) Had lunch with friends there - no spend and was really friendly and chilled :)

OH bought fuel yesterday for a long trip for a job interview today (drove there last night, on his way back now) - but he can claim mileage which will more than cover the fuel purchased:T:T

Had a demand from tax credits re an apparent overpayment - I can analyse company accounts and other financial figures but tax credit people make me go wibble!! Will look at figures and get it as straight in my head as I can before phoning them up. They have also (a few months ago) stopped payments for this year - I think we are still entitled so need to dispute that :(
