Benefit fraud

  • This thread does make me wonder about ESA in general. Here we have someone claiming to be too ill to work and receiving taxpayer support for many years.

However he has been working for several years so obviously not that ill. Not even working just a few hours a week either but 47!

How many more are on ESA that are capable of working but simply choose not to? They are all as guilty of fraud as the OP.

I work 47hrs a week, is that too many to get tax credits?

I got told I need to wait for another letter with how much I owe them and if they're going to take me to court. I wanted a payment plan set up before I left the IUC but they wouldn't let me saying they don't know how much I've had over 3yrs of work.

I plan was to pay £100 a month that'll take around 20yrs to pay back is that too long tho...

They will probably attach your wages if you don't make a sensible offer. If you are convicted of fraud the rate of recovery goes up.

Bet if I offered them 1000 a month that wouldn't stop them taking me court

    Andy.
There is plenty of people needing help that carnt get it, yet there are thousands upon thousands on the fiddle that seem to get away with it.
I know of another guy who is on these benefits including mobility, hes a drinker as well, i see him coming out of the pubs in the afternoons, his wife takes the mobility car to get to work in the morning 7am , also she picks 2 work colleges to drive the 20 miles to work ,monday to friday.
i also know of a couple & they have two mobility cars at the same address & neither of them have worked for years, why would you need two cars at the same house!, plus they are good at walking, oh but ive forgot to mention i dont know what pain & discomfort is.:)

i can walk for mlles and miles. i can also run ( but choose not to)
i can dance, though badly. this is because i am unco ordinated rather than because of disability.

i have a blue badge that i don't use very often.

i could trade my DLA in for a mobility car if i chose ( mobility cars are not 'free' as you seem to think. the couple with one each would have both traded their DLA/PIP in to get them)

    bet your incandescent now.
think i'll skip to the shops tomorrow ;)

well if thats the case you should be watched & investigated .
we know they are not free, its the taxpayer thats paying for all this.
If you dont need a bb , then hand it back in & do the right thing.
I wonder if your neighbours know you are on all the perks, id like to ask them.

i rarely use my blue badge, but when its really busy, i do.

all my friends neighbours and authorities know i receive disability benefits even though i am as fit as a flea.

but they also know i am blind.

people like you, who think that every disability has to be physically crippling and obvious to everyone, need to get a reality check. and instead of envying people that get something that you don't, you should be thanking your lucky starts that you have no need of a blue badge eyc.

if you would like my details in order to report me, then feel free to ask.

This is getting altogether too personal. It isn't your job to decide whether people on here are entitled to disability benefits. And you are simply showing your ignorance when you assume that all people with disabilities can't walk. My mobility is extremely bad but I wouldn't trade my eyesight to get it back for one minute. Disability isn't as simple as "can't walk". I am all for rooting out the thieves. But actually, I am also all for increasing disability benefits that keep people in poverty. And in case you think I'm just trying to feather my nest - despite my disability I don't claim a single benefit because I do not need to - I would be equally happy for monetary disability benefits to be means tested throughout. And getting a blue badge is not as easy as you appear to think. I cannot walk a single step without crutches, and even with them, my progress is slow, painful and limited to short distances. Despite that I got turned down and had to fight for it - to keep myself in work so that I didn't need to claim benefits!!!

It is this kind of irrational anger about people with disabilities that fuels the worst of the system.

    @dippy

Would it stop me ending up with the worst out come or doesn't that make any difference either?
