And did I say the stray whippet is now captured and at the dog rescue centre.
I am so pleased; I didn't trust myself to post about the poor little thing, but I was doing all manner of "stuff" to send safely-caught vibes. Will switch to sending find-loving-home vibes.
Oh and woke up to find dog had opened his crate and got out again. I have a houdini dog and not the faintest idea of how he is doing it! Maybe he can go on Britains Got Talent.
My former NDN had a Rainbow Boa who was named Houdini - for precisely the same reason. Maybe you need to invest in a small padlock. :D

Jazee size 12 :T - I am jealous!:D I still need to shift 10lb - but mind you, I had a major setback when the GP tried me on gabapentin; I gained 5lb in two weeks, without eating any more than usual. :(
Oh, and I love the bit about Poppet swimming in her bath; she sounds a super little lass. :o

2 x WM loads done - bedlinen and Mr LW's clothes. Mr LW is currently ironing the hankies I washed yesterday; then the idea is to give the bath-lift a good blast with the steam cleaner while we're dogless.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

LW - still a stone and a half to go to get to my 'ideal' weight as declared by my consultant.

Poppet was a darling on her walk. Quite the daredevil, jumping up to walk on low walls and walking right on the edge of open sided bridges in the nature reserve. I did have her on a long lead. I think now maybe she was just getting bored of going round the block.

I've just finished my snack lunch. The second lot of washing is now in the machine and I can't put off cleaning these floors any longer.

Hello. Thanks for all the good wishes.

Just finished lunch - using up bits before holiday. Also made the Xmas cake (FoodMix it up Sunday just doesn't have the same ring to it, but boy is it easier on the arms!)

Also a ginger cake for the office and my meeting tomorrow night. Froze the cake that didn't work last week - its fine with custard as a hot pudding, but too dry on its own.

Also froze a breakfast bake for cold mornings. Apple and Cinnamon Quinoa. Yummy with a bit of Natural yogurt and makes a change from porridge.

Scheduled to run later, but not going to. I had a really funny episode with my eye about an hour ago, as though someone had poured oily water into it. Sort of shimmering. Its cleared now but if it comes back we are heading to A&E. This eye has had lots of surgery on it and I don't want to risk anything.

So, no running or weights this afternoon. I suppose that means I'd better fly. Off to clean up the kitchen and then my study. The kitchen looks surprisingly good for 2 lots of cake baking. I managed to clean up as I went along.

Sending find good home thoughts for the greyhound. Everybody should have a dog Narc0lepsy:D

Huge congratulations to LW and FBO! :j:j:j I was only thinking we hadn't heard from you in like forever last week, and there you are! Lovely. Regarding booze in the Christmas cake, I gave up over two years ago and I work on the rule that if something's got booze in it as long as it's cooked so the alcohol evaporates, I can have it. What I can't have is the apples and pears I just bottled in brandy, calvados and mirto because that would be the thin end of the wedge for me and much like playing with fire. Much too tempting, I just know it.

    (((hugs))) ATB.

Thank you Valli, the offer is much appreciated but the old owners had the full instructions and the recipe book ready for me - I always ask when I phone up about whether they're available. Invaluable when they are, although I've now discovered that the Panasonic website has all the instructions downloadable for their kit. Marvellous company; it's one of the reasons I prefer buying their stuff, particularly when I get such a bargain. I love it, btw, marvellous machine.

I hope you're fully recovered from that exhausting day, Ionafan. Not surprised your OH slept through most of it.

Poppet sounds like a real character already, Jazee. *puppy envy*

The two hulking great chappies that were here last week hit the road this morning having booked for the spring. *kerching* Actually, one of them has been coming twice a year for ten years, the other is new to us and is his deputy. I never got round to telling the long-standing chap that the price has gone up twice over the past few years because OH and I like him so much, so it obviously isn't all about the money for me. But I do like the money, too. So, two rooms to turn around but no urgency because after months of back to back bookings there's no-one here this week so that'll be quite a nice change for a few days.

Flying-wise, I'm doing a bit in the attic every couple of days and OH is finally getting to grips with his stack, mainly by handing me stuff to put on the bay of e, so my office is a tip but at least we're dealing with it now. I'm 60, he's going to be 70 next year and we don't have kids. It absolutely has to be sorted out before we're too old to get up there. I don't want to think any further ahead than that for now. It all looks very different already, I'm pleased to say and I can easily find thing and put things that belong together, together - at long last. This flying lark works!

The rest of the house is sort of okay, the dog's happy, OH is happy, I'm happy so all's well with our world. Good feeling.
    Better is good enough.
  • Hi all

The 5.30am start is catching up with me! Have hoovered right through, sorted some washing, made tonights tea and prepped tomorrows casserole to go in sc. Watched DS1 play footie and had a catch up with a couple of the other Mums.

Back to work and school tomorrow.

    Evening!

I've a little to do in the kitchen to "put the house to bed" but have got school things ready for morning.

I've a bit more homework to do so I'll get on with that after the school run, while I'm waiting for the groceries to arrive.

Not sure what the plan is after that...

Enjoy the last of the weekend, folks xx

Kitchen almost clean. It is much easier now. The floor and cupboards don't get Ozzie. Managed to weld two identical metal bowls together. Oil and boiling water haven't worked. Grrrr.

Parma Ham and Mozzarella chicken scoffed. Just waiting for dishwasher to give it a final load. Sandwiches prepped for DH tomorrow. Not sure what I fancy.

Great idea fromGers on the daily thread. We've been struggling with Christmas ideas. Bare root roses for all the females. Sorted. Beautiful and something they will all appreciate (other than the having to plant them in December!) I even managed to find one that should survive a full Aboyne winter.

Thanks HoneyBear for the suggestion. This cake gets fed rum every week from now until Christmas! If I was really bothered I'd make one without, but this way I don't need to feel I have to eat it. What I really miss is tiramisu. Still haven't found a substitute.

Thankfully I no longer seem to crave so much - we have it sitting in the house. But I have accepted that I can't have it. Just doing Step 4 of my 12 steps at the moment. A lot of soul searching going on.

Have a great end to the weekend everybody.
