Good Morning all,
Yesterday was tricky but we stumbled through it emotionally, thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts. DH is working today, so I am taking DD swimming then we will get the Halloween decorations out.
Looking forward to Strictly tonight. Flying? Well, I have stripped our bed and unloaded the DW if that counts...
Hugs all round xMFW

Morning all. Still hoping that Natty is ok.
Just on here while waiting for DD to come round to go shopping in York. She is a terrible timekeeper, even asked if it's really ok for her to be late on her own wedding day, eek. I believe in tradition but that's a step too far.
I have already walked the dogs today (Poppet behaved impeccabily) and washed the breakfast dishes.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
I'm tired out after yesterday:
- drove 1 hr to DS2 and family, with DH falling asleep beside me
- ate breakfast, packed DGSs' spare clothes etc
- drove 30 min with DH and DGS3+4 to a NT property with a great children's playing field (swings, roundabout, piles of treetrunks to climb on, stone circles to hop round, slides, mounds to climb, tunnels to get lost in when you're only 1... We were the first arrivals and had the field to ourselves for almost an hour - we left as the hordes descended! DH had enormous trouble getting DGS3 into his all-in-one waterproof :rotfl:
- short break for a well-earned coffee
- drove 30 min and returned DGSs to their home (DGS4 fell asleep in the car, of course - so did DH)
- drove 30 min in the opposite direction (DH falling asleep again) to a small town with a very nice cafe where we had lunch; got exactly what I wanted at a nearby shop which was the reason for our visitand also bought a £15 second hand book  and some £2 earrings
elsewhere
- drove 1 hr home
- worked in the garden for 2 hours, raking the leaves off the lawn and planting out all last year's bulbs from the tubs; meanwhile DH hoovered the leaves up off the small area of decking. Now I've just got some potted Michaelmas daisies to plant out asap for next autumnand the rubbish to cut back (but that can wait a few weeks)
- cooked tea
- went to church choir practice
- went to other church barn dance and managed to dance for most of 2 hours - first time since my op, and very good fun. Even managed to get DH joining in every dance too.
- fell into bed and slept for 10 hours zzzz...
Looking forward to an extra hour in bed tonight! Meanwhile, today is a working day for me, and DH is ticket inspecting on the ghost trains this evening.
Well done on the job, mrs-mp :T:T:T
Jazee, well done to Poppet :T and Happy Debt-Free Anniversary to you :T
dancemum :eek::eek::eek: Have a big (((hug)))
Honey Bear, are you going to rent out your attic now that it's so tidy? :rotfl:
What was the dogsitting lady's response, LW?
Dizzy. woo-hoo to work starting soon
Hope Natty is OK (she posted on FB a couple of days back) and also FBO.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed. Hope everyone has a good weekend x0 -

I'm here Iona Majorly busy. A blessing 'cos the house is still too quiet.
I am now officially employed :T:T:j. 2days in the office (1way paid travel) and 1 day from home. Taking some getting used to.
Flying has been S&S and not much more. Must do better this week as we are off on hols next Saturday and I loathe coming back to an even remotely messy/dirty house.
About to go out to find a hand luggage case. Mine has died and DH wants everything packed and weighed this weekend as we leave at OMG o'clock on Saturday morning.
Then to the gym, and back to soak the fruit for the Christmas cake I can't eat. Thought about making an alcohol free one, but then I would be able to eat it. And I would! Currently put on weight as I started comfort eating after Ozzie died. Can I lose 1stone in 5days? Unlikely:rotfl:
Hugs to everyone, and the furries. At least I won't have an Ozzie trying to burrow behind me on the sofa tonight. We haven't heard any fireworks yet though.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
About to take the dogs for a walk although I'll probably end up carrying Poppet. She is the only dog I've ever known who is reluctant to even leave the house for a walk. What was the dogsitting lady's response, LW?
I still have one last leftover booking, but I've been told to just log myself as "unavailable" for that period. And it'll be lovely to see Cassie again.:o
Jack's gone home now; but his owner wants the details of the new company, as soon as I'm set up.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Subject to my references being satisfactory, which should, in all honesty, be just a formality, I'm in!!!!! :T:T:T:T:T I should be getting a handbook and some other paperwork in the post, and she needs to set me up on the website (it's online booking) and we'll be good to go.0

Fantastic news LW - knew you'd do it
And well done on coping with the home visit x
FBO - congrats on the job x
Lots of good news - that's what I like to hear"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

Yep sounds a lot of people are due congratulations, so well done to all the jobs and flying, not to mention gardening.
I'm ploughing on with the frog of the 37 files, 9 have been gone through and their contents pruned/culled.
Other than that, it has been mad at work so the blitz getting the house done for last Sun's visitors has had to last, other than essentials like keeping on top of cooking/eating/washing.
- Mr N has done lots in the garden and lots of ironing.
-I've just done 3hrs:eek: in church this morning with 1 other lady, taking down all the harvest festival flowers and decs, sweeping and vacuuming and putting more flowers out for an All Saints service tomorrow. Oh the joys of a small, ageing village; we are down to 3 of us on the cleaning rota and 5 on the flower rota (2 of whom are also 'cleaners' i.e. me and a.n.other). As almost the same people are on the refreshment rota, the reading rota and sidesperson it can feel a bit overwhelming sometimes.
Back to the computer now to keep on top of reports. Now taking bookings till mid-Jan. Will definitely be working out the cost of retirement in the next couple of years.......but I'd have to do more flying then
Oh well out for a Thai meal this eve then tomorrow we're taking MIL to a new-to-us NT gardens near Cambridge, meant to be lovely autumn colour.
And did I say the stray whippet is now captured and at the dog rescue centre.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0
