Hugs ATB these anniversaries can be tough xx it'll be 5 years for us in a couple of weeks. Not sure how I feel about it really :(

We keep thinking its Sunday, kazw (glad it's not!) xx

A flurry of activity this morning! I've tidied, dusted and vacced my room, vacced all upstairs (except DD room ), dusted and vacced LR, mopped LR and downstairs loo floors, cleaned 2x toilets and sinks, WM x1, DW x1 and done next weeks online shop! Phew!

Might make a cuppa then we are going to look at building this hutch. Ooo I better plug in the charger for the drill so I can use as electric screwdriver...

Also have a parcel here that might be hay / nuggets and water bottle. Might be collecting piggies next week! Yikes! We need to get an outdoor run sorted for them so they can keep the grass all trim for me ;)

Oh lawks, it'd better not be!
I have a terrible job keeping track of the days since Mr LW retired. It was bad enough before - but at least I knew if it was a week day or not. Now I have no clue!

Mr LW has once again been banished to another room with duster in hand. ;)

I need to take Jack for his walk, then brush him and do his eyes (just with eye'n'ear wipes; he gets the very common Spaniel tear-duct problem, and ends up with gunky fur on his face) as he's off home tomorrow.

Thank you all for the good wishes about the job. It means a lot to me and I'm really looking forward to it.
Just back from today's extra shift. Dh has been fed and returned to work so I'm going to get on with a bit of flying.

Well done on getting new job Mrs MP X

    Dailies done

First batch of twinks just out of the oven. Ds2 is just eating one. Help yourselves. :)
    Cuppa made,

Some of you may remember the large mobile bill my uni student racked up last year. It has happened again a smaller figure this time about £75. I purposely lowered the credit limit to the minimum but it still didn't stop this. Also he has also lost his wallet with bank card, railcard and ID. It isn't funny anymore.

Thanks Dancemum, don't mind if I do. As to the mobile bill, I still have a pay as you go very, very old nokia, and I put £20 on it at a time. (I get compliments on having a vintage phone now, too!) I heartily recommend it, as opposed to data roaming etc if you're the one paying the bill. As to the stolen stuff, I don't know how you teach someone that their losses are theirs, other than by not making them good, but that's painful for them.

Honey Bear - If I had a radiator I would leave it on the front as we have scrappers round a lot.

We don't have scrappers around here, but we do have an excellent tip. I probably didn't own a car at the time, so that may be why it went up there. I think my thinking was if one of the other radiators went kaput we'd have a replacement, but as the paintwork is now showing signs of rust I dread to think what the inside looks like. It's gone. As has the old micronuke, and in it's place is an new-to-me old Panasonic that is exactly what I wanted and would have been top of the range when it was new - it has a grill, a minute and a 10 minute timer etc, and is a combination oven and all for £15. Yes yes yes! Sparkly clean, with the original instructions, cookery booklet and trivetty rack thing. I couldn't be a happier bunny.

I also spent yesterday afternoon flying on the sundeck and now only have 10 violas and 12 pansies left to squeeze into the existing pots and troughs and I'm done out there for the year. Rather chuffed that it's only taken me 15 months to get the shambles that it was turned into something both OH and I really, really like. He's got his smellies - jasmine, Christmas box, masses of lavendars, flowers and colour and I've got my raspberries, blackcurrents, blueberries and herbs. I'll try again with tomatoes next year but after 20 years of disasters despite being given seeds last year (thanks Jazee!) and a bit of success this year I'm not sure it's the right crop for me and here. Ooooh, and I pinned down the last of the strawberry runners which I know will be too late for cropping next year but it is my favourite gardening job and it means we have an extra 25 plants for the following year if they all take. They seem to, here.

I've done the carpets on the ground floor and bottled up some pears in brandy, pears in calvados, pears in calvados and brandy and apples in mirto. The apples may not work, but it's worth a try because they're going a bit soft. As puddings they should liven up a few evenings even if I can't join in the jollity.

Bossy, this will be teaching granny to suck eggs, but if your guinea pigs arrive before firework night could you put them somewhere the noise will be baffled? I'll be cracking out Kelpie's thundershirt again and shutting the shutters and turning up the TV while clutching devil cat once again.
    Better is good enough.

Afternoon all. Hope you're all ok.

Have achieved just the basics here this week but that is still an achievement with Poppet. About to take the dogs for a walk although I'll probably end up carrying Poppet. She is the only dog I've ever known who is reluctant to even leave the house for a walk.

I'll catch up with you all at some point over the weekend.

Hope Natty is ok given there is no Friday list.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Hello there,

Still flying, although not posting quite so much. Have had yet another crazy 3 days at work!! Did keep up with the dailies.

Visiting DD1 at Uni tomorrow, staying overnight as her flatmate is away. So today I have gone from top to bottom of the house. It is so much easier now !!
Will catch up with you all when I get back.

    Happy Weekend everyone x
