Here is something for all your single friends:
Make a little suit out of felt or material and add this poem
Dear Father Christmas
Help me if you can
I have provided the suit
Can you provide the man!!!!!Every sixty seconds you spend angry, upset or mad, is a full minute of happiness you'll never get back..:p

Although i've mainly used this for the ned of term.... I love this poem for teachers - get the kids to decorate a card or a picture frame and the job is done.
it is called
UNITYI dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher:
the tools she used were books and music and art;
One was a parent
With a guiding hand and gentle loving heart.
And when at last their work was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had worked into the child
Could never be sold or bought!
And each agreed she would have failed
if she had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school,
and behind the teacher stood the home!
Oh my word, that is beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes x0 -
Think this is what you're after
This is an idea for a Christmas one
1 tea-cup and saucer, 1 tea bag, teaspoon, individual shortbread or biscuit
Wrap in cellophane and tie with ribbon and add this:
''On Christmas Day at half past three
Pour yourself a cup of tea
I'll think of you, you think of me
Sitting round the Christmas tree''
Hope that helps............:)
Mary...I know that this was a long time ago but I love my tea and live a fair way away from some friends and family...This made me well up.:o“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0 -

My daughter came home from nursery with a photoframe that they had made out of lollysticks. (3 glued together to form a triangle, then two triangles glued on top of each other to form a star) she had decorated it with glitter and added a piece of ribbon for hanging up. It had a gorgeous photo of her on it, and each year takes pride of place on our christmas tree, along with a new one that we make each year. It's lovely to see how much she has grown up each year.
Now every year we make them for the grandparents .... they even remind us that they want another one.
Unfortunately, I haven't yet come up with a poem to go with it.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

Some great ideas here. love the teachers poem..... will have to remember that for the end of the school year.
Hoping some creative person can help me with a poem of sorts to go along with DD's teachers christmas gift. Am planning on doing an end of term relaxation pack of sorts..... Have got:
mini bottle of wine
m&s bath rose petals
cadburys chocolate wish
mini scented candle
am planning on wrapping it all up in christmas cellophane, with a homemade tree decoration that DD made on the ribbon and adding some intructions (in dd's writing).....
Was thinking along the lines of:
run a bath
sprinkle the petals
fill a glass
light a candle
make a wish
lie back
and relax!
However that doesn't sound very creative at all..... any ideas? are there any other items I can add?
thanks in advance for any ideas!0 -
When you have been working and are feeling tired and stressed,
Here's a little hamper to make you feel the best.
Set the bath all running and sprinkle in the rose,
Then slide into the water from your head down to your toes.
Light the scented candle and let the fragrance flow
Then make a wish in chocolate and feel that rosy glow!

I made and donated these to my son's school Christmas bazaar. This was my first attempt at making new things. I did the pots of gold last year:Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
