I have posted these elsewhere but thought it would be a good idea if we began a thread (hope thats ok) with any extremely cheap gifts/traditions with poems.

POT OF GOLD
Pop an instant scratch card, lottery ticket, chocolate covered coins (some people put ferrara rocha in too), and put into a gold box, gold basket, glass jar with gold lid, or I put them into wine glasses (and use on the table) decorated with gold paint, gold ribbon around the stem and a label with the poem on.

This pot of gold is just for you
to make your dreams come true

A BOX OF HUGS
Tie an empty box with ribbon and add this poem to a tag.

This is a very special gift that you can never see,
The reason its so special is because its just for you from me
Whenever you feel lonely or are ever feeling blue
You only have to hold this gift and know I'm hugging you
You never can unwrap it, please leave the ribbon tied
Just hold the box close to your heart its full of hugs inside.

REINDEER POO
Chocolate raisins in a bag with this label attached

We were awakened when we heard santa call
Dash away, dash away, dash away all
But soon we discovered out on the front lawn
Santa and his reindeer were gone
With our little shovels we started to scoop
all of the droppings YUCK reindeers poop!!!!
and then we generously filled you up a sack
Merry Christmas and enjoy your snack

SANTAS KEY

Find an old rusty key and add string or ribbon with this poem on a tag

Santa this old key is a magical kind
and we're leaving it out for you to find
Cause for you tonight it will open any door
So you wont have to slide down chimneys anymore

Go to bed and worry no more

Porridge oats, a little glitter in a bag with this poem attached

When santas sleigh is full of toys
Ready for christmas day
Use this special magic dust
to help him find his way
Just sprinkle it outside your door
The glitter will be there light
The smell of oats will draw the reindeer
and bring santa on christmas night

Pop some glitter into a bag and attach this poem, perhaps with a pic of an angel

Within this little bag

My guardian angel placed there
It is to share with special friends
When they're down or feeling blue

wrap in cellophane and add this poem

Was told you've been really good this year
always glad to hear it
With freezing weather drawing near
You'll need to warm the spirit
So heres a little snowman soup
Complete with stirring stick
add hot water, sip it slow
Its sure to do the trick!

Because a long bubble bath is good for you health,
But a bath with no bubbles is no good for you
So I popped to Tescos to see what I could do
And sitting on a shelf in all its glory,
Was the solution to my problem and now I’ll end my story
A relaxing bubble bath is such a breeze,
If you Just follow these simple instructions please,
open the can, and pour on to your plate
eat the contents, run a bath and sit and wait
about half an hour , then your stomach shall feel the wrath,
and you shall have yourself an ALL NATURAL BUBBLE BATH !!!

friendship box

A box is beautifully and individually wrapped, tied with ribbons and has a crystal heart attached to it. It comes with the following verse (which is printed and laminated) attached to the outside:-


This is a Box of Friendship
It’s sent with love to show
Our friendship means the world to me
More than you’ll ever know.
So even if we’re far apart
Or haven’t spoken for a while
This will remind you I think of you often
And always with a smile.
There is no need to unwrap it
But if you’re feeling blue
Just hold this box close to your heart
Because it’s filled with love for you.



So in theory the recipient is not supposed to open the gift as it is filled with love. However, it is human nature to want to know what is inside, so, if they do open the box, this is what they will find...

There are some little gemstones, Aventurine, Rose Quartz, Blue Lace Agate, a little confetti angel and tiny dove and some confetti hearts and stars. The following verse (printed and laminated) is also included:-


So curiosity got the better of you!
You had to peek inside
Wondering what surprises
This little box may hide.

Oh Jamtart6 you do make me laugh this gingerbread thing is so good I am gonna do it for all my girly friends its brill!

Little poem I have come up with that I am gonna put in with mine thats been insipred by your write up:-

The Perfect Man

The pertfect man is hard to find
I know because I've looked
So I give to you the very nearest thing
and he's tastier than he looks

He won't moan at you when you go bootsing

For he really is the perfect man
I think you will so definately agree
