esmer - that's beautiful..........real lump to the throat..........:)
Sadly when my kids were little no-one did that sort of thing but I do have tea towels with the grandchildrens hand prints on they had done at their nursery class (they're 18 this year so it was a while back.)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Has anyone got a verse for "Snowman Coffee Soup" (Coffee, whitener and mints--have,nt thought of anything for a stirrer yet), i,m useless at verses and just can,t think of anything for it,

  • This is the snowman poem I used last year but does depend on what you have in your soup - candy cane and choc drops with marshmallows for me

This SnowmanSoup is just for you
Four spoons per cup (there's enough for two)
Add to hot milk and stir it up
And then - before you drain the cup -
    Sprinkle with the chocolate chips
Give a stir with the candy stick,
Top off with the mallow snow
And give your heart a Christmas glow!

    DTxx

I got this as a gift from nursery, and it made me cry.

my daughters handprint on paper with the poem next to it. It was such a lovely thought, I wanted to share. Not sure how suitable it is for christmas, but any mummy, gran, daddy will love it.
    Sometimes you get discouraged
    Because I am so small
    And always leave my fingerprints
    On furniture and walls
But every day I'm growing --
    I'll be grown some day
    And all those tiny handprints
    Will surely fade away

    So here's a little handprint
    Just so you can recall
    Exactly how my fingers looked
    When I was very small

Age of your child, and love from .............. xxx

That is beautiful :) I wish I had known that when my daughter was smaller (she's 5 now.) Ah well - I'll just have to make bigger ones!!

Great thread! It should definitely be a sticky!
    Engaged since 25/12/2009

Well I was engaged. Until we separated on 8th March :( Here's hoping that having a break will help us solve all our problems. Until then I'm a single mum on a tight budget :(

  • Ive made some mini candy cane mice and called them
    "Merry Christ-mouse Decorations" :rotfl:

Then printed on the back of topper -
" Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house,
not a creature stirred not even a mouse!"

So Id like to do something similar for the bag of "Bah Humbugs"
I was thinking along the lines of -
"for the Scrooge from his wife...a nicer piece of "credit crunch" to sweeten your life!"

Anyone help me out on this please?

    Thank you, Kim

''Dear Scrooge -this is for you
    From your loving wife
I'm hoping it just may well
    Sweeten your life.
    I know times are hard
    Credit crunch and all
    But come on, it's Christmas-
Yes I know the trees small,
But please, just for one day
    Don't say ''Bah Humbug''
Say ''Good will to all men''
And give me a hug '

    Is that any good ?:)
