Maybe the bumper looks ok, but best to get it checked for underlying damage .

Yes thanks. I will insist on that!

Lol! I ate 3 baked potatoes beforehand.

    Nice one!

Bottom line is the children were ok and you limped away so it could have been much worse if you had been caught between car and wall. Its a piece of metal that can be replaced and not the end of the world.Give the kids a big hug and move on...

They have just returned home and the youngest did not want to speak to me as he was afraid that I would shout, little fella!

And you are right, it's just metal and I have a protected NCB (thankfully!).:money:

I spoke to my insurance company (AA) and they advised my premium will not go up next September. Phew!

Not sure why an old Saab would help. Then handbrake operated on the front wheels I seem to recall, but doesn't make any difference one way or the other once released? (or was the release in a different place?). Just curious

You had to leave an old Saab in gear to get the ignition key out.

I hope you recover soon, glad it has not affected your work (and thus your income, important with a young family!) Your youngest will get over it and you sound like the kind of dad who knows when to talk softly to them about any "accidents" they may cause.

As has been said, a car is just metal, glass and plastic. A dad in one piece is much more important! Good luck with the repairs.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
