Ouch that hurt!
So, loading the car this morning and discover that the rear 2 seatbelts are not retracting back into the cassette as well as they should so put the youngest child in the front, eldest in the middle rear where the seatbelt is operational.
Load the kids bags in the boot, boot lid up. Did not see the youngest child release car handbrake!
Car rolls back down gentle incline with me pushing against the 2 tonne machine. Fail!
Car collides with tall brick wall some 20' behind its space and I jump in the boot as the wall crushes the boot lid etc.
Unluckily I did not manage to jump all the way in and one leg was used as a temporary bumper for the car and wall!
So the whole bootlid is shattered/ bent broken but the bumper is as new!
Unfortunately I'm now on crutches as I have sustained quite a lot of soft tissue damage! Even worse there is a crease in the roof where the boot lid went completely beyond where it should normally stop!
Bum.

So are you expecting us to believe that your five year old would have released the handbrake AND selected neutral then!
Wow how quickly do these things escalate!

Where does it say that cars have to be parked in gear?'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Whilst the point by some of the posters above could have been made more tactfully and sympathetically, they are correct.

Exactly this. The adenoids on some people here must be the size of beach balls...'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Right so the young lad has managed to release the handbrake and you lot think he wouldn't have managed to then wiggle a gearstick around whilst playing....
Givingnop a bit of a hard time here. I'm betting a very small number of people would have done that whilst unloading shopping.
Although you should have moved out of the way rather than try stop it from behind but the benefit of hindsight is a lovely thing.
Hope you recover soon!0
