It shouldn't be off, as long as your freezer has never defrosted itself during the last year. The only thing that may happen is the quality deteriorates a bit or it gets freezer burn.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

The quality reduces after a while but it should be fine if it has been constantly frozen

I found a large tub of open mixed spice at the back of my cupboard, it was out of date in July. Now I'm sure it's still fine so I shoved some in a cake today. But how long do you think I can carry on using it??0

I'd probably keep using it for ages as long as the pot is shut properly.. how about a nice bread pudding that should use up quite a few spoonsfull .. we like ours spicy#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I'm guessng it's a best before date? I think the spices lose their aromatic oils over time, so the spices taste a bit 'wooden', iyswim. If the cake tastes OK, then I'd carry on using it, but I'd probably treat myself to a new one sometime soon.

Personally I would keep using it until its finished as long as it doesnt smell funny - I came across some ground ginger which was 2 years out of date and had no problems when using it.Every days a School day!0

I have some cinnamon in the cupboard that is just over a year out of date and I'm still using that and will continue to do so till the pot is empty...As long as it looks & smells ok it will be fine..
