I would use it for as long as it smells fine (I think that will be for a good while yet)

I too would use it as long as you can still smell the spices It may get slightly milder as the power wears off a bit so just use a bit extra.usually the reason that spices are in such small pots as often we have a stack of them for ages.

You know, I don't think I have EVER checked for dates on my herbs and spices, and some of those jars have been there for years...

It's a "Best before date" not a "use it before this date or it will kill you" date.

Seriously, spices last years. Ditto herbs, properly stored. Eventually, the smell and the flavour fades to nothing but it takes years longer than the date put on the label, which is predicated on the spices being badly stored in full sunlight.

It will last for years and years - just like all the dozens of spices that are in my cupboards :D

Use it up until its all gone - even if that takes years, as the aroma fades just use more of it to compensate.

Half a generation I would guess, judging by the ones in the house I grew up in. I tend to rattle through curry spices but the baking/mixed spice variety I have had since I got married 30-odd years ago!

I put this on the "safe to eat poll thread" but think that this is a better place for it!
