OH and I just ate a piece of the carrot cake I made yesterday. I thought it was quite nice and the sultanas definately made it more moist. OH left some of his cream cheese icing though cos he said there was too much, so I ate it (waste not want not).
I bribed OH into clearing up a load of paperwork that he'd shoved in a paper bag (a full-size carrier bag) in the TV room by saying that he could only have his cup of tea and cake once it was done. He told me he'd finished, and I emptied the recycling bin twice, but came in with the tea and cake, and he was doing more sorting (obviously hadn't finished). Still, at least he has carried on after the cake, so it's not too bad.
A friend of ours who lives in London called earlier to ask if we could come up there next weekend, but as I'm babysitting on Saturday night, we couldn't go. So they are coming down on Sunday instead for Sunday lunch (we haven't decided where yet, but it will be out somewhere). Have told OH that we definately have to make the flat look a lot better than it does then if they are coming over, as they haven't seen the place for over a year!
Have done 4 loads of washing so far today (the rain clouds were blown away, so it never appeared, although it has looked a bit precarious a couple of times today). Have the towels in the TD to finish off as a neighbour has filled up half of the line, and has gone out, so have limited space to hang things (this is the problem with living in flats).
Those rats look really cute shirley. The only thing that puts me off about rats is their tails so I'm glad I can't see them.
Carrot cake anyone?Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
I am feeling very pleased with myself as I've done a couple of hours work out in the garden and it looks soooooo much better.
Nice and tidy and leafless on the grass for a while at least. :j
Roast chicken just gone in the oven, must go and make the yorkshire pudding batter.
Suppose I should go and do a half hour of ironing....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Since my last post - I found MORE paperwork! 90% of it shredded, blimey I'm being so much more ruthless, have done 'personal' items box, sorted through a stack of clothes I found under the bed (most of which ended up in charity bag) cleared through some other junk from areas of the bedroom, found and sorted most of the smaller xmas presents I have bought which are now boxed, boxed up the stuff I call 'kids' which incs some things they've made at school and all the SEN reports etc, put some chargers into plastic bags (going to go this with all of them, put into a sandwich bag then get a box to keep them all in, sick of untangling wires) made a box for greetings cards (well repaired a poorly box anyway) managed to fill 2 more bin bags of rubbish and junk aswell as adding to the paper recycling.
PHEW!
Kids dinner in now, DP still not back so pleased I didn't do a big dinner for us all (mainly because I have been so busy I forgot) Going to do thoe manuals, gurantees etc next, decided plastering when kids are up is a bad idea so that can wait until later.
Sorry Pigpen I am another rat fan aswell, great little pets, while since I last kept them however last 2 were white and called Casper and Taz. I've been asked to babysit some but it's for 3 weeks and unfortunately is over the time when we'll hopefully be moving, bad timing. One day I might be more organised...........
