Just returned from looking round the high school with dd1 and OH has washed up and made packed lunches!
Just having a glass of wine and catching up with the posts!
Vanilla - can't believe I didn't use my SC sooner aswell - tea was yummy tonight and there is enough left for my lunch tomorrow!
Penpen - thanks for the recipe - they look delicious!
Pigpen - do you really have 8 ???
I struggle with 3 - you are amazing!
Nite all xx0 -
Washing up all done. Kitchen table has a variety of school books, pencil cases etc on so will leave for boys to pack bags tomorrow.
Just had some of the eves pudding - it was delicious - silly kids, think they were just full up as they did not have anything else.
On the subject of food DS3 (5) is really not keen on carbs. He will not eat potatoes (even chips) might eat a waffle at a push. Not keen on pasta, hates rice, doesn't really like bread unless toasted or to dip in soup. He loves protein - his sunday lunch consists of meat (he can eat an entire chicken leg, not drum stick the whole lot and a wing) and a raw carrot! Doesn't like yorkies. He is healthy, full of life, same size as other kids his age so I am not worried but it doesn't seem very balanced. Any ideas? I have never tried noodles - what do you do with them?
Tracey how old is your little one. Mine all turned into toads from the age of 15 months - I am hoping one day a princess will kiss them. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Noodles you just boil Dusty, my DS1 isn't a carbs boy either but unfortunately won't touch noodles either. Main problem I find with his like for a lot of protein is stinky poop (sorry if anyone is eating) his really stinks and when I mentioned it to DS2s dietician she said it's possibly because of his diet being high in protein. Other things like cereals and veg do contain carbs aswell however. http://www.momsteam.com/alpha/features/nutrition/high_carbo_food_chart.shtml I looked through something like that when I was trying to increase DS1s carb intake, he eats more bananas now. Saying all this his brother is a carb junky, much prefers carbs to protein and he's the one I am struggling with more because of his weight. One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks for the link Lil_me I forgot beans - he does like baked beans but might try some of the other canned beans and see how he gets on with those. Interesting that yoghurt is so high in carbs but obviously sugary ones, he is very keen on diary products. Thankfully his poo is not smelly. He does eat quite a lot of fresh and dried fruit I just feel it is starchy stuff he lacks. Not too bad on cereal so guess it probably all adds up.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

EDit - fantastic we have no wine, it is at times like this that I despise my OH he is always drinking the wine and never replacing it.
Hiya Dustykitten
She's doing so well with her nails and they're fine until she catches them when they're loose. Last week she caught one on the net around the trampoline but she caught it really high up so I had to climb in and lift her to stop it hurting. Luckily the window cleaner heard her scream and came and helped! Looking back it's almost comical. Now we have plasters everywhere for her to cover up the loose ones. At the end of the day if this is all we have to cope with we're extremely lucky.
Nightmare about the wine! xxJanuary budget
