Right everyone so far has been given a number.
Bob I have given you a number, come along for the ride and have fun. You have been through so much, done so much (cycling until late in your pregnancy) and yet sometimes whatever we do, doesn't seem to be enough. We don't make any progress or seem to be going backwards. However look at what you have achieved so far. look on this as a temporary hiatus, sometimes all we can do is tread water and stay afloat.
You were very pro-active in taking the decision to close your other business and start afresh (having already adjusted to working solo after all the work to restore your premises and fighting with the insurance companies). You did everything you could with your business but it is something that has been part of your life for some time so it must feel like the end of a chapter. Be kind to yourself, look after your family and take on board the messages in this month's challenge.
Have fun
Simplify - cut out the 'oughts, shoulds and have to's
Get outside and enjoy the daylight
Concentrate on what you have done (ignore the rest of the list)
Celebrate your achievements, recognise how far you have come
Victory dance
This month's challenge was written very much from where I am at the moment (was afraid it would sound too wimpy). However I was aware that some other turtles were struggling with debt reduction and with health problems. It is the tail end of the year and it is going to get dark and cold.
Remember life isn't about waiting for the sunshine, it's about leatning to get out there and dance in the rain. Splah through those puddles. Jump in the pile of leaves (a ferret would). Let's make our own rainbows. Week 1 Mini Challenge Hoarding
Ferrets are natural hoarders, not something I would normally encourage. However a little hoarding of the right things counts as preparation.
Thinking ahead to the inevitable colds and flu, check your medicine cabinet and get in a stock of paracetemol etc (or natural remedies if used). A recent MSE article revealed that cheap generic brands were as efficacious and in some cases identical to expensive branded remedies, so get them now rather than paying extortionate prices when you succumb.
If you know you will struggle to get your 5 a day it may be prudent to buy a daily multi vitamin. Repeat the procedure for your children. Remember when they are ill they sometimes revert to playing with 'baby toys' so if you are having a clear out, maybe put a favourite video or toy aside. Having an activity available for stuck in bed/ on the couch days is useful - I used to give mine the strips to make paper chains and the stapler for joining them (using the stapler was a special treat).
Do you or anyone you are responsible for need the flu jab or use inhalers. Have the summer holidays football, rugby, roller blading and tree climbing depleted your stock of anti-septic cream, plasters and melolin pads.
Stock up on soups (homemade is best but tins remind me of childhood and make me feel 'looked after') for when you are too ill to cook/ eat. Have a couple of emergency meals for when everyone is ill and you would be but you have to look after everyone else.
Without being too graphic it might be wise to have extra toilet paper because you don't want to run out and sometimes you really really don't want to run out.
Remember to get out in the sunshine / available light whenever possible to boost your immunity and your mood.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

I'm in. REALLY going to work on the non-grocery SFD's. I'm going to allow myself a small budget for cafes as it is where I meet friends - I live too remotely to easily meet up at each other's.
Been temping two days a week - including a nightmare commute from North of Glasgow to Ayr. This is probably going to become permanent so I need to do some serious hoarding/batch cooking/freezer filling in preparation. It looks like DH and I are going to be eating separately 4 nights a week so things need to be in individual portions.
Travel budget way up, but food budget coming down steadily. Need to get back to the exercise. The 2 days a week in the car/at a desk are showing on my hips after only a month (Something to do with a Costa coffee in our local Mr T, and a weakness for their chocolate brownies:o
So cafe budget CANNOT be spent in Costa or Waitrose cafe:rotfl:
Good luck everyone, and congrats Speky on your DFD:T:T:TGoals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
