  • Re-reading yesterday's post, I sound really ungrateful. I should be doing the ferret dance as I actually have a job. On my terms. I think I'm still reeling from losing the FurryBeast, and there is quite a lot of guilt as his passing means I can actually take this job.

Feeling a bit better today. Going to the Kirk senior citizens club this afternoon so I have baked my contribution. I've missed it since working, but I can now organise my days so I can go every other week which is great. Dreading the 'why haven't you brought Ozzie' questions. Hopefully be the last time though.

Ok. Time to throw off the dismals. Flying to do.

    Hi Everyone

C went to doctor who was unable to give him anything to help. Apparently it will go away of it's own accord in due course. Hope that happens soon so we can all get some sleep. Poor soul is feeling really unwell and very tired since he spends most of the night coughing.

Anyway, curried parsnip soup was delicious and there's enough left for lunch tomorrow. Keeping up with the eating and non-drinking and having lots of early nights.

No NSD today. C bought some chicken (for son's dinner) and chocolate biscuits (to give to the children next door). I shouldn't let him out on his own. He can't resist buying something.

Apart from that a very lazy day. Really must pull myself together and get on with these challenges.

Hope everything is well with you all.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Yesterday and today have been NSD! Now at 5/15. I'm hoping that tomorrow will go down as NSD and Sunday.

I haven't had any take away coffees this week though which I'm really pleased about!!!!!

  • Hi everyone
Celebrating the small stuff - I got a bit of housework done when I got in from work. First time in ages I actually felt like doing anything at all. I have completely wiped myself out now though and am ready for my bed.
Life ticking on as usual. One more week until half term, and hopefully some answers from my scans and blood tests. We shall see.
I'm up to 8 nsds - would have hit 9 if dh hadn't drank the last of the milk and not mentioned it...

    Evening everyone,

Well a bit of a spendy day for me. Picked up a few groceries for the house and paid £10 for a ticket to a Halloween party I'm taking the little one too. I'm pretty sure when I asked about it last week I was told it was £7, wish I'd dished out the cash then lol.

Walked a total of 4.99 miles, thank God the rain held of.

Healthy eating consisted of a banana. Does the 'orange' part of a Terry's Chocolate Orange count as healthy?! Came to the realisation today I eat far too many chips so I think my learn something new for the month should be cooking a healthy recipe.

My victory dance for today is I that I completed my uni homework that was actually set for next week.

I'm looking after my niece tomorrow, hopefully I can keep her amused with some Pokemon hunting and make it a NSD!

    Well done everyone.

I was determined to get dowstairs and stay onn my feet today. Still very slow and having to sit down frequently but I have:-
Dried and put away all the previously washed pots
Washed a quilt and put it out on the line
Washed dried and put away latest batch of pots plus frying pan, roasting pans etc
Sprayed the kitchen windows inside and out (was supposed to go back later)
Boiled some eggs (unfortunately forgot them and they exploded - all cooling in back yard)
    Boiled more eggs successfully
Made 5 portions of sweet potata mash, keeping an eye on the eggs
Make leek and sweet potato soup (leeks were ys'd to 8p a pack)
Took cs and food bank donations
    Hung 3 pictures
Chopped up celery and another leek for celery and sweetcorn soup

Had plans to do more but went very cold suddenly and currently sat on the bed with the fluffy cardi on, trying to stay awake. Will have to put a clean sheet on the bed at least.

Today I am grateful for enjoying cooking (been struggling to think further than a sandwich), for having enough food to donate to the food bank and for another visit from DS2 and Brodie the dog.

ccl cross posted but isn't it great just to have achieved something and be properly tired because of it.

look after yourself mothernerd - can't believe you've done all that today while you are poorly

I failed my NSD day as had to buy Pret soup as overslept and forgot packed lunch.

However with help of quidco managed to get my annual travel insurance for only a few pounds dearer than last year ( it's never cheap because of pre-existing conditions and age).

Also made a cheeky £2.80 by buying boss's annual sub to industry mag online via my Cashback card and will claim back cost on expenses. Would do victory dance but can't as still have cough and would probably fall over! :D

I'm sorry to hear it, it must wear you out. What helps me when I cough at night is to have a high pillow, so that my head is up, and a spray of watermist from a spraybottle, straight into the air above the face area. Set it to its most misty setting and aim for the ceiling. One or two squirts will do. Hth.

  • Managed to do a couple of surveys. Maybe I'm beginning to get the hang of it.
I've only started doing them this month too, I'm really enjoying it at the moment, I keep refreshing the app hoping another survey will pop up. I'm up to £4.47 now :)

NSD no.10 for me today, halfway to my goal of 20. Paid for my sax lesson, but it's budgeted so I don't count it.
I've also worked an extra 5 hours today, which will make up some of the shortfall from last weeks sick absence. (Almost forgot what time I was due in and had to rush so I wasn't late).
