Hi mumoftwins just caught up on your thread and glad court wasnt too scary.
Just for a bit of info. Your landlord cannot apply for a warrant before 10.00am 02 October. The warrant will be issued the same day and you will receive notice in the post of this. The warrant will then be passed to the bailiff who will allocate an eviction date and time. This will be hand delivered to ensure you have it. The eviction date is usually about a week after this. So in reality you should have until around the 09 Oct before you absolutely have to leave. I know you will want everything sorted before this but just incase you need it there will be a few days after your possession date before actual eviction.
Hope you get everything sorted xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

I'm glad court wasn't too stressful for you MOT. I have been following your story with real interest and it seems that all of us are willing for you and your children to be settled.
One thing I would say is that I wouldn't allow the council to keep fobbing you off. If necessary go down there regardless to whether they operate appointments or not. If you are desperate it's tough on them. Just because one person is off for the day, doesn't stop anyone else doing their work.
They are hopeless and you will have to push hard for even the simplest of things, I'm afraid.
Good luck for today. I really hope things move a step closer to you getting what you need.0 -
Thanks Penguin I did wonder how long I would have before I actually HAVE to get out.
And Wotnext thank you too for your comments I will go down to council and demand in the nicest possible way to see someone. I have to do something this morning, so I will come home at lunchtime and check post to see if the Warrant of POssession has come from the court so that I can take it with me.
Be on again later - thanks for caring all of you :AChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

Hi,
I've just read through your post and I wish you lots of luck and hope things work out for you.
I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago after splitting from my partner. I was dreading being put into emergency accommodation and I was constantly on the phone to the council and luckily they gave me a house. Every time I rang them it sounded like they were fobbing me off and then one day I was told a letter was being sent to me but they wouldn't tell me over the phone what it said. I couldn't believe it when it arrived the next day with an offer of a property and to be honest I don't think at that time I would have cared where it was as I was virtually homeless with just a couple of days to go. I went and viewed the property that day and got the keys that afternoon. (You will have to accept regardless of whether you want the property offered or not, as the council will say you are not really homeless if you can afford to refuse).
Don't think that they put all the 'homeless' in blocks of flats, they don't. I was expecting the worst and was given what in my eyes was a palace.
Just really saying don't give up hope, keep pestering everyone at least once a day and hopefully all will be well for you and your children.
Best Wishes

Just found this thread, my thoughts are with you and I hope it all works out ok. We have had some experience of the Council housing system as we applied for it a while ago. It's a strange system. Basically the woman there told us if we split up then we would get a house straight away as we have a child. Otherwise we would have to wait around 8 years. In the end we found somewhere to rent luckily.
She told us a few things 'off the record' that quite frankly were very shocking.
Watching a programme the other night about how people who come here from other countries get a house within a few days and all the furniture provided for them as well (I'm not starting a political argument or being racist in any way, just saying how messed up the system is).
Anyway, good luck and be very wary of the 'intentionally homeless' thing - they really try to get you on that so think about everything you say very carefully.0 -
I really do hope you get seen. Wosrt comes to worst, go and take a paerback and camp at at their front desk 'in case of a cacellation appointment'. Hopefully they'll get the message that you're serious. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Hi all,
Thanks for continuing support!
Rang head of Housing dept this am and she promised to get someone to ring me back.
Rang again at 12.30pm and this time I was told that I 'needed an appt didn't I'? Person to do that was at lunch but 1.30pm phone rang and there she was ready to make my appt! Anyway appt booked for next Tues at 10.30am that was the earliest they could see me  , and a letter will come out to me stating what I need to bring.
Also managed to get Drs appt for 3pm today so the fact that council appt not til next Tues gives my Dr time to do the letter confirming what a wreck I am.
Just come home to find that LL has moved my belongings out of the garage for me and put them under a canopy ready for me to take. He was in the courtyard when I arrived and he said ' you will out for the 1st Oct won't you?' I told that appt with council not til next week and he said that I shouldn't rely on the Council to house me I should look for somewhere else  ! He was trying to be all nicey niceyChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Surely he's not allowed to remove your stuff whilst you are still living there?? Hopefully someone can shed some light on this - there must be something you can do?
Sorry I have no advice, my heart goes out to you - I would be fuming!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Went to see Dr this pm, she was brilliant :T ! Sat and cried my eyes out and showed her my statement to the court explaining the background to why this has happened. She will be writing letter for the council explainging how I have been feeling and that I have sought Drs help over the last 9 months and can pick letter up on Monday ready for appt with Council on Tuesday morning.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0
