theres nothing stop[ping payments into a paypal account(or an email address for that matter.
it doesnt have ot be a registered PP email.all that would happen is the recipient gets an email and can add that email address to a PP account or create one if they do onto have one.
ive not read the whole thread so cant go to in depth.
however if this is urgent cash then be aware of PP's bank transfer times

I've just spoken to one of MoT's twins (MoT was driving).

Apparently, none of the evidence about her health (physical or mental) was taken into account.
MoT will find out whether she can appeal when she's spoken to her solicitor, any appeal must be on a point of law.
She is also now aware of the donations everyone is offering.

I'm not sure if she will be posting tonight or not, but I've told her she's got loads of good wishes to read on here.

Thanks for all the support & offers of help - MoT is very grateful.

    Love to all,
    Floss xx

I don't know why not tbh. As long as people are not claiming back their money then there should be no reason as to why you cannot do it as lots of other charities use Paypal, I think if there are lots of high value monies coming in it get complicated and anything over £4500 (in total, not from one person!) and the account needs to be verified (money laundering reasons).

You can also pay in using http://www.nochex.com/ Nochex, does the same as Paypal.

OK, I do remember a few years ago on the eBay boards, one of their long standing memebers and someone set up a Paypal account and people were paying into it so it can be done.

ooh, you just reminded me, there was a thread a while back on the moneysaving arms where someone died and people could donate, If I remember correctly Martin approved that one. can anyone remember that thread, so we can ask how they set up the donation site.

It might be more helpful for someone else to accept payment son her behalf, I am just suggesting this because if she is on benefits then she might lose them if she is getting a sum of money in, whatever it is for. So many things to think of, I am racking my brains over how to deal with this. If anyone has a 'spare' basic bank account (My hubby does but we can't access it as we can't remember the pin etc... but we had it for selling personal stuff on eBay) then this might be easier as we could then pay them and then that person could do a large transfer to IT (?) who can then use this towards the house/deposit. Does that make sense? i am trying to think because MOT might jeapodise her benefit money and that would not help her right now.

Excellent thought, I think IT (does he recieve any benefits:confused: ) should receive the monies, it would be less complicated then, we want to keep things simple and on the straight and narrow, so to speak.

If that was the one about claire's 21st donations to charity (in the memory of the child) instead of presents... I think that was through justgiving

Guys, before you have set up a Paypal account, basic bank account etc, can we wait & see if MoT wishes to accept the generosity being offered? She's only just been told of it, and as yet has not had chance to think & digest today's appeal, let alone the kindness of all you people wishing to help.
