I'm back only briefly, but long enough, BE ASSURED DBC, to fire off Festive Missives to Targets chez vous.
To all on board here, may I reinforce loving and caring wishes and happiness on a day of some respite, I pray, to those for whom despair is the sole constant.
I will be back - another year older;) , and infinitely wiser:D -for the 17th.
Hmm, I see that My Magical Mystery Tour Itinerary includes Dover>Hemel Hempstead that very day.
    Quelle coincidence!
    I must pop into DBC................................... :D;)
So many fine people there to whom I must wish Bonne Ann!e.
Bless you all, Julia, Felicity, Adam, Tony.

  • I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and that Santa brought you your heart's desire. MOT, the twins and I had a very nice Christmas and due to the generosity of many there were some nice presents to unwrap. We played games and watched only a little television. No sore heads, so that was a result. We did go to see the new St Trinians film and had a good laugh. I was apprehensive having enjoyed the originals so much (showing my age here) but the new one is very funny and well done. I've got the box set of the originals now so they will be on the agenda to watch soon. MOT, the twins and I were supposed to be going to the Midlands today to stay with her friend for a couple of days but we had a very early message this morning to say the dreaded 'lurgy' has struck their children down so now we have to stay home and think of something to amuse the twins that doesn't involve spending money. MOT will no doubt be posting again sometime today. Ciao amici.:santa2:

    Hello everyone:hello: :hello: :hello:

I see that I-T has posted already so there's not much to tell:confused: !!

Hope you all had a really good Christmas and that you're stockings were full of lovely goodies!

It is such a shame that V's children have come down with this sickness bug - her husband dosed them up with Calpol last night and put them to bed at 7pm (they're are 10 and 6 yrs old) hoping that it was just the overexcitement of Christmas but no..........V was up and down all night with one or other of the girls vomiting, so we're staying put.

I have sorted out the twins presents and tidied up and then we're off to I-T's to watch one of the old St Trinian's films and have a snuggle on the settee.

It seems unreal that Christmas is over for so many people who are back to work. I have always been used to working for a company that finished on the day before Christmas Eve and didn't go back until 2nd Jan - so for me it has always felt like one long holiday. But the Christmas and New Year holiday will soon be over and the next thing on my agenda is my appointment next Thursday with the Psychologist, then everything will back to 'normal' for us in that the 'fight' to prove that we are NOT intentionally homeless starts again.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Years Eve and day, and that it leaves you rested enough to help me again in my battle with DBC xx

Good to hear that you have had a lovely Christmas.
I am one of the 'back to workers' but I aspire to my sons Christmas break he is in the Navy (a petty officer on submarines) he finished on 21st Dec and doesn't go back until 7th Jan. But he could have just as likely been away 3 months under the sea and not even any contact. He is about to join a new sub and its in dry dock so he has been lucky this year. I hate that recently sales are starting on Boxing day so the poor sales assistants only get barely a day off. Plus my daughter was temp Xmas staff at H Samuels before Xmas and worked 7am until 8.30pm on Christmas Eve just getting sale stuff organised. Not fair and not right!!
I am old enough for the original St Trinians but I don't really remember much about them. I prefer to wait for most things to come on the TV I have trouble staying awake at the cinema!

I've been lurking - just logged in to wish everyone, especially MOT and the twins, a very :xmassign:.

Also thought you might like to know that I am a genuine St Trinian's girl. It's true - apparently Ronald Searle used to see us going off to school in our boaters, and all the illustrations are based on the school I went to.....:D
    Hi jobbingmuscian,

We watched the original St Trinians yesterday afternoon and I thought of you, wondered too who Ronald Searle had based on you when he saw you come out of school:rotfl: :rotfl: !!

Pollsykettle - thank you for taking the time to read all the posts and I do hope that you manage to get a better nights sleep tonight!

Viv, I remember working at Boots when the twins were babies and I was given the choice of working Boxing Day ar New Years Day - it doesn't seem right that Christmas for some people only lasts a day!

Also, Viv is not alone when falling asleep in the cinema - I love to go to see a film or a play but I DREAD falling asleep, I just can't help it!

Good to have you back online again Bonsibabe and hope you had a good Christmas!

Lots of love to everyone 'speak soon' xxx

Hi mot - glad to see that you, I-T and the twins managed to have a Good Christmas - in spite of everything.
I love the British Comedies - so much better than the all too predictable 'American High School' !!!! that we are inundated with over Christmas.
I did watch the classic 'The Great Escape' which they 'snuck in' a couple of days before Christmas, this year. How sad is that?
Anyway, just to wish you all a Very Happy New Year. Enjoy the festivities - it will be back to campaigning before we know it.
