It is probably down while they upload the other paper to the printers, then they will update it.... might be overnight though.

Oh the joys of working in newspapers....especially a weekly on publication day - there's nothing quite like it!
Have you worked for a newspaper Floss? I did years ago when I first moved to the Midlands and that was a weekly, and yes I remember publication day well:D

Yup, 4 years, 2000 - 2004....loved every minute, apart from the bullying line manager. Worked as a "direct delivery coordinator" - basically, organising the home delivery of up to 4,000 weekly papers on 2 days throughout Cheshire. You know they say "don't work with children or animals" well I;d agree with the children bit - especially when 15 go on holiday on the same week, and 7 of the little darlings haven't told you! I did a lot of paper-delivering overtime in those days, as did my DS's!

Hey ho....life moves on....into local government....now there's a conundrum - having worked in the real world for 20 years, it is remarkably like going back into the dark ages! :D
  • Hi MOT. I've been reading your thread over the last few days (cos it's taken me that long!) and I'm amazed at how strong you are and how well you've dealt with this situation.

Although I'm new to MSE, I'm so proud of how everyone has rallied behind you.

Will be keeping track of events from now on.

Good luck - you've got the best fighting your corner

Current balance: approx £17500 including Tax Credit Overpayment

Estimated DFD: never - deficit budget. Cheers HMRC!

Another year over and we're still together. It's not always easy, but I'm here forever
  • Hi MOT and all. Hope your headaches better me darlin. Just read the article and I agree that it skims the surface but will probably lead people to want to know more about your situation. On Martins home-page he's asking for people to offer to go on his new programme re money difficulties - would that be another option? The wonderful advice and support youve had from people on here (you know who yous are xxx) would give his site more publicity and show the strength of the People Power that is here ready to fight the injustice to the innocents like yourselves. Sorry for sounding dramatic but it maddens  me so much to think of a lovely family like yourselves suffering whilst others seem to have things handed on a plate. Your situation is going to be repeated over and over with the current climate of people getting into financial problems for reasons beyond their control. And even tho Mr Brown has a lovely scottish accent, he needs to be aware of the hideous people who are ruining (no spelling mistake) our councils and abusing the power they are supposed to be using to help people.
Right, Im biting my tongue now. Wheres mee wine????
DS - before you take the England job, how about rescuing my beloved Newcastle United first??? (OOps hang on! Aresnal didnt beat us!!!) :j

Welcome SP to the thread - yes everyone on here is marvellous. When I first posted on here I didn't expect one reply let alone the hundreds I have had! I really couldn't have stayed so positive if it weren't for all these great friends I have made on here!

I don't believe it I used to work with someone who came from Saddleworth! He said it was a lovely area and really wanted to go back to live there.
