ATB'S Frugal Foray to Freedom

Today I have a very simple goal - don't spend any money
if I can nail today and Thursday as NSDs, with small spend on fuel tomorrow, I will be a very happy ATB.
All kids slept well and we are ready for the school run. I have a big list of household chores to fly through today so that will keep me out of mischief. All meals from the fridge/freezer so no spends needed

Good luck with you NSDs!!!
Jess xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!0 -
No money spent, hurrah :j
Still contemplating putting just a fiver of fuel in the car tomorrow, not sure if I dare risk the looks I'll get though :rotfl:
I have the beginnings of a cold, so plenty of vitamin C and zinc needed.

£7.57 sent to the mortgage to tidy our current account up. A couple of DDs are due out tomorrow so I will be able to make a Tilly tidy then too.
Perusing my barely used jewellery box has led to a couple of items being selected for the bay of e. They may not sell, but they are ideal Christmas gifts and in immaculate condition, just not my cup of tea. Looks like that's a little job for tonight!
I can't tell you just how much I am looking forward to being in the 30s, that'll be a huge milestone and 5 figures will seem so much more achievable - if we can make it from the 70s to the 30s in less than 2 years, surely we can make it to 5 figures in the same amount of time...MFW

Absolutely sure you can. A lot of the time it is belief that makes it happen I'm reckonMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks Watty, I think so long as our frame of mind is in the right place the journey seems more manageable. I am also a big believer in the concept of not looking at what you still have left to do, but what you have achieved so far.
Good Morning,
- £2.76 sent to the mortgage. My MF date jumps ever closer :rotfl:
- Lunches and dinner planned from the stocks so no food spend required, save that we have run out of dog food so I will have to spend on that today.
- I am going to put a fiver in the car - that's all the fuel I need for the coming days, so that is all I shall spend
Didn't manage the ebay listings last night as I was re-reading Tilly's diary until late for inspiration, so that's a job for today.
Oh, forgot to add, getting my eyebrows done later but I already have a voucher for the salon so it's free
Have lovely days all xMFW

Thanks for popping by tryharder and Mctaggus x
Well, I caved and put £25 of fuel in. However, this is being reimbursed to me by the lovely company I do some voluntarily work for - they are giving me the cash tomorrow so as soon as I get it, I am going to pay it in and then immediately OP it. Spent all of £4 on dog food too, last of the big spenders as ever!
NSD planned for tomorrow and Friday, there is nothing I want nor need. My mum is visiting tomorrow and she suggested we visit the local retail park (she lives in a rural area and doesnt get to go shopping much). I politely told her I really didn't fancy it, so could we catch up at home instead. Phew, she agreed :TxMFW

Hope you have a nice visit with your mum - glad she's agreed to skip the retail park.0
