I'm only really 'bothered' about my OH seeing my posts. My OH uses my laptop from time-to-time and so MUST have seen my username by now. Also when I'm not banging on about MSE/DFW, I'm banging on about Getting Things Done (a 'how to organise your life' book) so I've completely shot myself in both feet. Ho hum...
And the reason I'm 'bothered' is I'm supposed to be working!! Not DFW-ing
But then I don't have any friends I can chew these things over with... (get your violins out

My daughter's got it right. She was yelling down the phone to one of her mates the other day
"I've told you. We're POOOOOOR!
You can come over and stay for tea, and we can have a sleepover and my Mum will do everyone's hair and nails and we can watch cheesey 80's films and stuff...
but I am NOT asking her for £30 so that we can go iceskating just to pose against the barrier all night, and then NOT eat the pizza we paid for cos girls don't eat and THEN fight over which rubbish film to see cos you've already seen everything!
Take it or leave it love - I can always ask someone else round!"
That is absolutely bloody class...Oooh I've just cheered myself up typing that out. It's put a big grin on my face.

Everyone knows... no secrets... nothing to hide. They all know majority of mine was a new kitchen I had put in a flat to sell on at (huge) profit... i could remortgage and pay it all off in a couple of months but I'd rather not be paying interest on it all for the next 25 years!
They don't give me any solid support, so spose that's why I'm on here... I need direction and a kick up the butt now and then to stop it getting any worse..
Proud to have dealt with with my debts

:hello: Hiya hon!
I'm glad we put a smile on your face sweetie.
My daughter is pretty cool - bless her - and she's taking all this MSE-ing in her stride, which makes life a lot easier than it would be if she was a stroppy teenager about it all.
She's stroppy and opinionated - she must get that from me!

I think being found out can be a bit of a relief to be honest. My Mum knew we were in debt but didn't realise how much. Brother popped round a few weeks ago whilst i was on the whatsthecost website so i was caught red handed so to speak! None of our friends or work colleagues have a clue about our debts & we wouldn't go out of our way to tell them, but if they ever found out at least we wouldn't be bottling everything up. We are slowly but surely dealing with our debts. SIL works at a bank & keeps trying to talk us into remortgaging with her bank & consolidating all our debts. We have said thanks, but no thanks, although we may arrange an appointment with her colleague as she reckons that they can do the mortgage for £60 a month cheaper than what we already pay.Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. Hiya Snaggles, Funny Looking maybe!:rotfl:
My mum says we're similar - mainly when my daughter is going off on one funnily enough.
I LOVE that my daughter says what she thinks - she used to be such a shy little thing when she was small. She wouldn't say boo to a goose.
In reception class she was bullied physically by a couple of the other girls - she needed stitches on one occasion - but the school didn't want to "label" the other kids at such a young age and so they didn't seem to be doing anything...
It was a long saga, but suffice to say that one day I'd had enough of trusting the school to handle it.
So I told my daughter "Anything those girls do to you, you tell me - and I will find their Mums in the playground and do the same thing to their mothers."
Well! My daughter was so looking forward to seeing this exciting event that her whole attitude changed and instead of being scared of them she became more "Bring it on!!!!"
and lo and behold, the bullying stopped!
Anyway... I didn't mean to bang on and on, But cheers for the kind words honeybun (on behalf of both of us.) :A
