Do you still get the cash back when using Apple Pay?
I would assume (so long as the poster was telling the truth - & no reason why they shouldn't be) that the fact they said they've never used the card & they use the Apple Pay instead means you must get cashback when using Apple Pay.

Yes FrankRizzo using apple pay contactless you do get the cash back, obviously same rules has to be under £30. Im sure TSB actively mention apply pay in the terms and advertising, see below

Plus 5% cashback on your first £100 contactless, Apple Pay, or Android Pay payments each month

I used my card in a cash machine in an Aldi to use my PIN and check my balance. Transaction went through contactless. I'd forgotten an item, went through the till again five minutes later - not contactless!

One transaction the following day - not contactless!

    Truly random.

Normally I have to put in a pin in after about £50-£60 of contactless spend, its a security feature although I dont know the exact criteria.

Checking balance at a cash machine doesnt seem to count, I always take out £10 and this does the trick. I have a few cards and tend to max out the cashback most months (mainly on restaurants, petrol and supermarkets) - its been an excellent bonus for me

That is the trick. I used to have the same problem with con-tactless transaction but since I learn how to use it never fail ...

Those who have the problem. Try this
    - If you know you will be making several purchase about £30. Find cash machine and withdraws small cash £10 (say) using PIN.
    - Do cash withdrawal from cash machine as often as yo can (e.g using your PIN)
    - Avoid purchasing of £30 if you could. Better to use £29

There is no problem with spending exactly £30. My husband did this, three times, for petrol, this weekend.

Regarding PIN requests being random (as CS informed me, on asking) some unfortunates will get regular checks as some seem to get none, with the majority getting a few.

It's rather like the odds of getting various totals when throwing two dice. 2 and 12 are the least likely totals, but do, of course, occur.

Can confirm Apple Pay does attract up to £5 with the TSB offer; didn't quite spend £100 last month but still earned over £3 here.

If you happen to have a TSB credit card that'll also earn cash back on contactless/Android/Apple Pay.

Edit: you earn 1% back (up to £500) with the credit card. Offer ends next September.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Been using my TSB c'less since switching in March. Friday was the first time for a refusal and return to PIN. Saturday needed some cash, today made a successful c'less at a Wilko's.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

I've started using Android Pay so i hope it counts as contactless.
