Just go into Primark (or any other cheap shoe shop - you could try Shoe Zone) and buy your daughter what she wants.

I'm sure she'll thank you a few years down the line when her feet are messed up by wearing cheap footwear without any support.

That doesn't make sense, it is either plan black footwear or not plain black footwear!

Your kids do seem to have an obsession with wanting to wear the most inappropriate shoes to school, why is that?

The fact that you even have to ask speaks volumes.

Obviously a chavvy school. Polo shirts are worn for PE. Regular uniform is shirt, tie and blazer.

Oh no. It's one of the best schools in the area, dontcha know. :D

No it's actually one of the best schools on the area

One really does wonder why so many people who appear to be obsessed with their children's school footwear don't ask the other Mums at the school where they got their kids' shoes from.
That would make more sense to me.

Polo shirt and sweatshirt uniforms are the norm Blazers and ties are just over the top and unnecessary

Can't wait for the 'when are Primark doing their ugg boots as my kid has an interview for a job' post.

How sad. If as the OP suggests, "blazers and ties are unnecessary", what will happen when these school children end up in the workplace? When the OP goes to the bank, do the staff wear polo shirts and Ugg boots?

IMHO one part of the wearing of a smart school uniform is to show youngsters that in certain positions, you are expected to dress smartly, apart from the sense of shared identity. As a teacher (p/t just about to go to work!), if any student of mine turned up in Ugg-style boots, I would ask them to wear correct footwear. Does the OP not realise that failing to provide appropriate footwear is a form of neglect?

For goodness sake woman, don't be so submissive . You're her mother. What you say goes. JUST SAY NO. Are you one of these women who would protest because the head teacher sends her home from school because she's not adhering to the school uniform? If so, you're being part of the problem, not part of the solution.
