Little nephew was a bit better at his schoolwork today as DSis's OH was in charge of it today!  Nephew did apparently throw a bit of a tantrum at one stage but OH calmly told him that the puppy that is arriving in mid-Feb will be cancelled if he continues to throw wobblers as it won't be fair to the dog!  Apparently it worked wonders and there wasn't a peep after this!🤣. Mind you I think they're all going to have their work cut out when the dog arrives!😱

Lol 😂 love it. He’ll need to keep his things tidy so they won’t get chewed. My gdd is desperate for a dog and my dd keeps telling her she needs to be tidy before she can even think about a dog....and she is the tidiest 4 year old I’ve ever met....much tidier than her mum. 😂😂😂

It cost a friend almost £1000 when they thought their puppy may have eaten a toy of their child's.  I think that both the puppy & the child could do with a bit of training.  We think that they may have poisoned it by feeding it too much chocolate & I don't mean doggy chocs!

@milann and @badmemory - it will be interesting to observe. DSis isn't a particular dog lover - she'd only have cats when younger.  Her OH is allergic to cats and doesn't like them anyway - but always had dogs. When they got together it was decided that they would forego the pets - plus they have always had a very busy lifestyle. Since they've had little nephew he has always wanted a dog and they have finally given way. I don't think DSis is particularly keen but OH has always hankered for one. I thought though at least they would have gone for a smaller breed - instead they're getting a lab!  Years ago I had a lab when I was married - lots of moulting and she chewed through most of my whole shoe collection one day when I went out and forgot the close the wardrobe door!😱. Watch this space - DSis is houseproud!

I felt rather bleugh yesterday and didn't get up to much - didn't feel like going out for a walk, stretches or doing anything in the house so the cleaning project stalled. I think it was the thought of going back to work today. ☹️

And lo and behold work was less than wonderful. Spent all day catching up and my back really ached at the end of it. I had a word with the boss about my retirement again as it's only four months away and reminded him that we need to sort out a replacement me.

I did call my final salary pension provider and went through a few points with them. So I will be sending off my forms to them to make sure all will be in place for end April.

Quite pleased to see my little stock in my ISA that I had a punt on has gone up 130% since I bought it some months ago. Not life changing though and you only make a profit if you actually sell the thing!🤣

Only spends have been new silicon baking mats and ironing board cover from Amazon.

I always thought I was a cat person until we got our dog. Mr SA and DD pestered for a dog for years until I finally caved in. I will admit that first weekend we got her and she was pooing and peeing everywhere I got upset and thought we’d made a big mistake. By the following weekend I knew we’d definitely made the right decision. Wouldn’t ever be without a dog now and I am ultra houseproud.

Keep meaning to ask you, how did you get on with the eyebrow dye? Mine have disappeared and with no prospect of beauty salons being open any time soon, might have to resort to DIY.

My DS and DIL bought a pup a year ago. He is lovely but very lively. He has that many coats and collars that I asked when was he going to get a wardrobe to put them all in. At Xmas he had matching pjs with the rest of the family. We have always had dogs, the one we have know is 9 years old. Have said no more after this one. Will just take my grandpup out for walks. X

@Sun_Addict - the dye was ok but looked a bit odd initially (well to me anyway) as the outer third of my eyebrows have disappeared!  So I still have to pencil those bits in. But at least the dye covered the few white hairs that have started appearing so overall effect looked a little thicker.

@amber03 - DSis's family are big into matching Xmas pjs - watch this space next Xmas!🤣

Maybe I’ll stick to the eyebrow pencil until the salon opens again. The first time I had my eyebrows dyed at the salon Mr SA said “calm down, calm down” (referencing the scousers in the Harry Enfield sketches). They had got slightly carried away with the colour to be honest 🤣

You must be quite excited about retiring in only four months. Tell them you're going on that date or there'll be no incentive for them to recruit or train your replacement. Hopefully by the time you retire the virus restrictions will have lifted a bit and you'll be able to enjoy doing things. I've got just over ten years until I can retire as I'll be 57 in the spring, I'm looking forward to retiring in some ways although I shouldn't wish my life away 🤣 .

Exciting year for you SG if you are retiring in the Spring.  Hopefully things this year will be better for travelling and going out and about.  We booked our big retirement trip to Canada for last September and obviously rearranged for this September in light of current circumstances but not even sure if that will go ahead.
HHD are you retiring at 77 or did I not read your post right? Are you 57 or 67?
