Shocking to read of the death of your friend's husband. It brings it all too close. 40 is very young. Hope your other friend continues to improve.4

Awful news about your friend’s husband. Just so sad. Glad there are signs of your other friend improving.Nails wise, I don’t know if you have extensions or just the gel colour, but I’ve bought myself a LED curing lamp (slightly more expensive than the UV lamp but cures faster and doesn’t harm your skin), the base/top coat and all the paraphernalia that goes with it. I just have the colour, extensions may be a lot trickier. So quick and easy to do, only got 3 colours so far but it’s a start, results are great and will save a lot of money. Whole kit plus 2 colours was £60, additional colours £6.50 each.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

enthusiasticsaver said:Exciting year for you SG if you are retiring in the Spring. Hopefully things this year will be better for travelling and going out and about. We booked our big retirement trip to Canada for last September and obviously rearranged for this September in light of current circumstances but not even sure if that will go ahead.
HHD are you retiring at 77 or did I not read your post right? Are you 57 or 67?Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thank you @maggiem @Sun_Addict and @HairyHandofDartmoor.I spoke to my friend today - she had a bad night last night and got her son to call the paramedics this morning. She said they were wonderful to her - to cut a long story short, her oxygen levels are thankfully ok and they said she must drink more fluids and try to cool herself down more as her temperature was up. She said that she felt a lot better after they had gone in that at least she had been checked over thoroughly.SA - I have extensions so I wouldn't trust myself trying to do my own nails! 😱. It's a great idea though and will save you a fortune in the long run. I'll mention it to DSis as she has just gel on her nails.Grim old grey day today here in Seasideville, but thankfully our neck of the woods has escaped the recent heavy snows and floods, unlike some of the country. ☹️ I do feel for these poor people who have been flooded out yet again and can't get any insurance now to top it off.Scrimpy MSE Things
Spends today was a sympathy card bought in the Post Office ( which is the only place I can buy a reasonably nice card at the moment as all our local card shops are shut). Also some vegan cheese, cherry toms and bananas in the little Co-Op.
MSE job of the day was ringing the tax office with regard to claiming the extra tax relief on my workplace pension as a higher rate tax payer ( by the time they took to answer me I'd nearly forgotten what it was I wanted to ask!🤣). They told me what form to find on the HMRC website but that's a job for tomorrow. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I think they’re a tad busy with the various COVID schemes right now. Lots of staff taken off their day jobs to cover. Gov.uk website is very easy to navigate 👍
If your sister plans on doing her own gel colour tell her to make sure the base coat, top coat and varnish are the same make as the lamp. My DIL is a nail technician and gave me this tip.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
