I think it's a good idea to go private if you can manage it as eyes are so important!
I used to go to bed feeling fine and wake up with a backache every morning due to an old saggy mattress. We invested in a Posturepaedic mattress with a latex topping. It''s like sleeping on a cloud and I don't wake up with a backache any more. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Wow SSG58 so impressed with all you have achieved with your diet. And now vegan! That caff breakfast sounds gorgeous and something I will copy
I like the sound of almond milk Bailey's. I don't drink milk so I might buy that too!

We have a gel topped mattress which is superb, he has had a couple of back ops so comfort and support are critical. We had a memory foam one before that which wasn't as good but worked for me pre hot flushes. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Well done on the vegan diet. There is a lot of vegan food available at the moment. A lady at work did it for a while and she had some amazing food, not sure why she stopped doing it. I know she took a range of supplements whilst she was on it as well. I sampled the Vegan Baileys whilst on holiday - I quite liked it.
The new mattress is a good idea too. If it helps it’ll be worth every penny.January spends - £587.580 -
A comfy bed is worth every penny, so money well spent.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

You've got off to a good start and your meals sound really nice. I didn't know Bailey's had an almond milk version - good to know that you can still have your treat while wrapping your presents.
I have continued with the foot exercises and I am finding that my feet are much better. I couldn't do the exercise where you picked something up with your toes and saw a slightly different exercise where you just scrunch your toes up so I do that now while I'm watching TV - so much easier.0 -

£50 Ad Hoc spends again this week. So far non-budgeted spends have been £49 to the private doctor re. referral letter.
Re. the eye problem l- I saw the private doctor and got a referral to an eye specialist that I used a few years ago. I've booked an appointment to see him at Moorfields.
One other biggy thing that I must buy (and this will come from the PPI funds) is a new mattress. I've had my present mattress for years and I'm starting to wake up each morning with a lower sore back – even with the mattress topper. So research to be done on this plus the ioniser this weekend.
OPTIMISTIC OCTOBER (DAYS 1 3)
· 1,500 cals three days in work week, 500 cals on two and lighten up a bit at weekend, BUT KEEP IT PLANT BASED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! – all going well so far (see my previous post)
- Keep on with the walking and foot stretches, but see if I can incorporate a few back stretches as well – haven't got round to back stretches yet so fail here! Need to start this NOW (see achy back mention above!)
1500 cals in three days hmmmmmmmmmm
rather you than me x0 -
Hi there all - thanks for posting! I am still alive!!!!!
I'm going to write a long catch-up post tomorrow lunchtime at work as it's easier on the PC than my iPad.
I'm rushing off from work to home now, but will get reading and catching up with diaries tonight.
Hope everyone is ok!
