What is it with receptionists not giving correct information... you can ask 3 of my receptionists the same question and get 3 different answers.
Loving the sound of scrambled egg and smoked salmon...I might have to add that to my meal plan soon as I’ve not had that for a long time...think I’ll try the hibiscus tea too....:p
I have a Morrison’s as my corner shop - a few minutes walk away. They do some nice things although I’ve never used the delivery service.
    January spends - £587.58
  • Hi milann - Doctor's surgeries eh! I do try and keep away from them as much as I can!:)

The tea is really nice - I'm drinking some now! The report on it was so positive that I thought I'd have to try it. However it said that you should drink some water after each cup to protect the enamel on your teeth!

I forgot to mention I did look up Morrison's- unfortunately they don't deliver to my area. :( Off to Sainsburys......

I'm here! Sorry I've been AWOL – busy with work and the week has just zoomed by!

Thanks for posting everyone – condensed version of events below:-

    END OF SCRIMPY SEPTEMBER!

Balance from Ad Hoc Spends for the whole month ended up at £61.53, which wasn't toooooo bad. However, it turned out a bit of a spendy month all in all – I blew a couple of the budget categories, i.e. make-up; and as well as the Michael Buble ticket, I'm booked into to see a performance of 'White Christmas' at the end of November. It's a remake of the Bing Crosby film (which I love!) – Danny Mac is playing the Bing role – but it wasn't much cheaper than the Michael Buble ticket. DSis bought the tickets – she said that we're not even sitting in the Premier Stalls seats – they cost even more! And I've bought tickets for DD and me to see the new theatre production of the Ben Elton TV series 'Upstart Crow' which is next February. I'm treating DD to her ticket. That's me finished for theatre/concert tickets for a while!

Re the PPI spends I've earmarked - I've got the suitcase (well DSis has it at the moment as it was delivered to her at work!), but still to order the ioniser and iPad. DSis and her family are off to the US at the end of the month so I want to check how much a new iPad would cost here if I trade in my old one against how much they are in the US – she said she would pick one up for me if it works out cheaper there.

START OF SCRIMPY WEEK 1 – OCTOBER (which actually ends today!)

I've added extra budget categories which are as follows:-

    • Books/Kindle/Itunes
    • Glasses
    • Taxis
    • Travel (Senior Railcard/Oyster)
    • YNAB
    • Tech (which is going to be a long term category for new iPad, Kindle, iPhone when required!

£50 has been allocated each week for Ad Hoc spends and I'm afraid I blew this on Saturday as I needed new diffusers for the living room and bathroom - £49.98! (Diffuser budget category anyone?) I bought the Stoneglow diffusers again – I like these and they're much cheaper than the Neom versions. So a measly 2p to Ad Hoc Savings this week!

Re. my eye appointment – well, the hospital finally rang me yesterday to let me know that, although they understood my optician classed the referral as urgent, they had no available appointments for the next few weeks. I said when do you think you'll have any? A month? She didn't know – I should keep looking online for cancelled appointments (which I didn't know I could do!). So I've had enough and tomorrow I'm going to a drop-in doctor's surgery near where I work with a copy of my referral letter and ask to be referred to Moorfields. I'll have to pay and I'll also have to pay initially to see the specialist as I have a £250 excess on my medical insurance. But to be honest that's what my emergency fund is for and at least I should be able to get to see someone reasonably soon. I just feel thankful that I do have medical insurance at the moment.

The good news is that I lost 4lb on Saturday when I weighed in! So that's a total of 1 stone 8lb in five weeks!

I think that's all to report apart from an update on the last of my September goals. I also have my October goals to set out and one is quite a biggie for me! So will update when I get home.

I don't know if you like Jo Malone but there are reed diffusers in Ald1 that apparently are a take on hers. I spoke to a woman in the queue and she had 8 and swore by them...

Great news on the weight loss. Well done :)

Nothing is more important than health so a good use of money from my POV too :)
