I'm also a 'faffer' when it comes to bed time. I aim to have switched of screens and be in bed reading for 9:30 - hasn't worked tonight!

    Hi SSG

Just caught up on your diary. Well done on the PPI and good luck with the Happy challenge:). I will have to go have a nosy at her diary.
  • The omelette was delicious redo and I do have some courgettes left over. I've got a courgette fritter recipe somewhere though I've never tried making them - you have to grate them don't you? Think I'll have to give it a try!:)

Coarse grate and squeeze liquid out. They need some flavour imho, so cumin or something.

The other thing I tried this morning was making an egg wrap, two beaten eggs, seasoned and tip it into a pre heated spray oiled frying pan on low. Leave it until cooked through, let it go cold and then use it instead of tortilla wraps. I had rocket, tomatoes and Parmesan shavings in mine and it was good. You could flavour the base wrap with herbs/spring onion/chilli/etc I think.

To help with you water intake you may want to consider purchasing a chilly’s bottle (or a competitor). I have two, one at work and one at home. They hold 500ml and I try to drink 3-4 for of them a day. They keep your water lovely and cold for hours and I find I definitely drink more water than I would from a glass. The designs are super stylish as well. They have just introduced some Emma Bridgewater designs!! ❤️
Good luck with your water target, it is hard to start with but I don’t really notice it now. It takes a while for your body to adjust at first and you are visiting the loo frequently but it soon passes! I find it makes a massive difference to my skin too which is a bonus!

Thanks Munchin - I love Happy's diary. It really resonated with me when I joined the board as she was trying to decrease her debt without anyone knowing - just like me!

That egg wrap is a really good idea redo. I love eggs! One of the 'posh healthy' type takeaway chains near where I work has been advertising something like your wrap. It'll be interesting to see how much they are charging! I'm definitely going to cook these and take to work for my breakfast for a change from the porridge. Thanks!:A

Hi lashie - I used to be good with my water intake but seem to have fallen off the wagon lately. :(. I had a look on the John Lewis website for the chilly bottle as I have some JL vouchers left. They do sell them so I'm going to order one and have it delivered direct to work. Thanks for the idea!:A

    SCRIMPY WEEK 4

So £44.42 Ad Hoc Spends this week. Today's AD Hoc Spends was £5 for my dry cleaning. I did however receive £4 from the dress agency!:) to go into Savings. Budgeted food spends was the greengrocer and fizzy water.

So how did Day 1 of the New Plan go?

    - Zero alcoholl – all ok here.

    - Maximum of 1500 calories for five days, 500 calories for two days (to include 5 x fruit and veg and just one sweet treat on the 1500 days) - all went well - toast with lighter spread and marmalade (all rationed out!), soup, ryvitas and salad for lunch, courgette and tomato omelette with large salad and reduced fat Caesar dressing (that I've had for ages and needed to be used), plus apple and satsumas for snack.

    - Six glasses of water per day – another two glasses tonight to bring me up to target!
    .
Step up the walking pace - downloaded a walking app and set it up for a 30 minute walk - which I did with a steep hill thrown in. Also walked when I did my errands today.

Go to bed at a reasonable hour – As I'm not at work tomorrow I'll set this at 10.30 tonight.

No money wasting. Balance YNAB daily - all ok. I had to pay for my dry cleaning but no other Ad Hoc spending. YNAB all up to date.

So all in all not a bad start!:)

Well done on the new regime today after yesterday's shaky start :D

So was today a 500 or a 1500 calorie day? I couldn't tell from your list. I would be an absolute evil-tempered monster if I had to manage on 500 calories!
