Hope your feeling a bit better caronc!

I've got sausage casserole in the SC for tea and had quite a good day, washing done, beds changed too! Take it while I can.

I'm glad tea is already prepped and there will only be one pot to wash too as think I'll have an early night with my book.

Hope everyone is doing ok x

Hello all . Sorry for the long break since posting last . Real life has been rather challenging over the last few weeks .

Looking briefly over a few os threads , with a few exceptions we seem to have had a lot of the sun and humidity others are missing so sleep has been almost impossible and brain fog is only slowly clearing a little .

Caronc I hope you are a bit less wobbly now and have managed to air the wheels and get some time in the garden too .
May need your permission to use it but " a wee bit wabbit " was made for my dd and I , our doctor would love it , I often think he's secretly writing a book on appointments with us as they usually involve utterly hilarious conversations involving anything from Terry Pratchett to Bruce Springsteen and everything in between .
I know it's a scottish expression but my heart is and always will be in the highlands , so maybe I can adopt it .

Hope all is well with you and yours Tink also maddiemay and Prinzess - have you been back to the craft shop since opening day ?

Warm wishes to those who read .

LW If you see this sending the get better vibes to your husband and the physical and mental strength to you . Quick look at the threads shows it's doggy house guest time . Enjoy every minute and take care .

WCS I'm not sure if you will even see this but you have been so quiet for so long across os I wanted to send virtual non painful hugs over the border . I hope you and the boys are ok . I'm still fighting the good fight for some empathy and social justice to return to the uk . The moving forward twice of retirement age is way up at the top of the list of wrong calls . Take care xxx

Now I've sort of dipped a toe in the thread again I'm off to eat something . It's been a long hot day again here so if anyone is looking for hot and sunny I will happily sent it in bucketfuls from a normally wet and windy part of nw england where we can't function when the big yellow ball stays longer than a few hours !

    Take care

Good to see you posting again polly - I hope life becomes a little less challenging overcoming weeks:)

Feel free to use "wabbit" it just sums up feeling below par so nicely and I can't lay claim to it :rotfl:. Your Dr may also like "gubbed" (totally kaput)- it was how the balance specialist described my balance (or lack of it) to his students......

I'm trying to adjust to the new meds - I'm finding the side effects hard going but they did say it would be at least month for my body to adjust and I'm only on day 8 so can't really complain. As always I'm doing what I can when I can and just trying to make the most of things. Life is just too short to moulder:D

This has to be some sort of record for me . Only four days since I last posted . I am having a seldom seen quiet day and have been catching up on threads .
Caronc Youngest loved both those words " wabbit" is her best normal but " gubbed " is a wonderful shortcut for the doctor , he's going to love it . Hopefully the meds are settling a bit now and should shortly improve . Your consultant sounds perfect he must be a treasure .
Moulder is a word I grew up hearing . I knew the meaning but not the history . I had a little google and it dates from the 16thC . I already knew you were a fellow Bibliophile but you're also a fellow Wordsmith not that you'd recognise it by my posts with my constant errors transferring words to the keyboard !

Hi to Prinzess , Maddiemay and Tink hope all is well with you .
Caronc I see you were one who had to create a new thread . I was wary of coming on here but I reckon we're too small to be noticed .
It's has made me think though that I must keep learning ways techie wise . I've mentioned before I would love to be able to do bullet points and had a few kind replies here mentioning Office and other things . I upset Mar on the new fence thread on Wednesday and couldn't get back from GREEN - wont colour it this time as she'll pick up the vibes and do something again . I ended up posting in a very washed out grey but as I was was completing my post noticed all the paragraphs had a neat bullet point just like Larumbelle used to do . I'll figure out that now by trial and error but need to learn how to link to a previous thread in case I need to . The cut and paste advice from Zippy just reminded me of wallpapering so I'll have to suss that one out .

Hi everyone, I survived the holiday without too much loss of energy, the weather was lovely, apart from one wet day which was much needed as everywhere was looking so parched.

Met my best friend for coffee, a mooch around the shops and lots of catching up today, we try and meet once a month, but it had been a long gap due to holidays, life events etc.

Cold and wet and seem to be in a CBA mood this afternoon, wasted an afternoon on the internet and snoozing, but can't seem to be in the mood to read, bake or do anything useful:( I might hide in the bathroom for a while and try and do some beautifying this evening, if it is not too cold:eek:

Looking forward to reading what everyone has been up to and will try and keep up with posts now.

    Take care everyone.

I'm glad your daughter like the words. My local dialect is peppered with these gems and many, many more to boot so if she needs a "word" to describe something I suspect Scots slang may be a good "go to" ;)

I started a new thread just to be on the safe side - better that than disappearing suddenly!

I managed with quite a lot of assistance from my son to do something I've not managed in over a year - go to the library:D. I was missing "real" books and go through too many to afford buying them all the time when I could get loads of e-books for £8 a month on my kindle. I was definitely very wabbit aferwards but delighted to have managed.:D

Hi everyone I'm having a good weekend! Was at hospital yesterday but managed to do a big shop and I'm going to batch cook some stuff today and tomorrow as I've got to do it while I feel good!

The kids have broken up from school so have a full 6 weeks to fill. I'm going o try and go week by week and have days in planned as well as days out, craft and baking days should help as well as cheap cinema trips and the library is very local too. I'm lucky my parents are very active and help us a lot.

It's raining today so we have just had a chill out day and I'm going to start cooking when DH gets back as I have no onion - I buy chopped frozen onion as my hands don't work very well and I could have sworn I'd seen some in the freezer! I also buy grated carrots and freeze as it's easier to chuck into meals when bulk cooking.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend :)

    Hi everyone .
maddiemay You sound pretty ok and I'm pleased the holiday turned out better than you'd feared . The CBA days are the days to stop and consider what your body , mind or both are telling you . Usually it's you need to slow down for a while and just "be"

Caronc Brilliant news about getting to the library . I couldn't imagine a life devoid of books . I was the young child with a torch under the bedclothes long after it was time to sleep .
I know Kindle and other means of reading are very popular and with good reason . My eldest daughter wanted to buy me one years ago but I knew it would be seldom used so told her thank you but I think you'll be wasting your money . I have a small number of ebooks which weren't available in a book version . They were downloaded from Amazon either free or at a very low price to my laptop so I had a 15.5 screen too read on . I did read each once but unlike the books you can hold in your hands I never felt the need to read them a second time .
To my mind " The book is always better " They take up a lot of space ( well they do here ) are magnets for dust but to me are more of a pleasure than on screen versions.

I'll be back in a while the phone is ringing .

Back again . I swear my offspring have some form of esp when I'm doing something like trying to post , that's the second long phone call in the last few hours both times when I was on mse replying .
Tink You sound as prepared as you can be for the next six weeks and that planning is the secret to less stress and having an alternative plan should the weather not be good . I hope you have lots of sunny days . Having your parents involved will make for good family times and many happy memories .

It was still raining here until around midday but the sun is now shining in a cloudy sky , much warmer than much of the past few days but not that oppressive heat and humidity prior to the last week .
I can feel an improvement in my joints so I'll be happy for the weather to stay like this for the rest of summer , Last night was the second full nights sleep in a row for me after all the sleepless nights .I have some energy today and am doing short bursts of housework .I really struggled to eat through the hot weather but since yesterday my appetite has really improved . This must be the weather most suited to me functioning at my normal .
After all the things DD and I never did over the past year we actually got to do something on the list . Was just a few hours to a nearby village but it did us both the power of good .

Cranky Who's posted here was on the new fence thread and LW and LynP are around . I think Prinzess may be on holiday .

Meanwhile Enjoy your Saturday whatever you're doing .

Well had to dry the washing indoors 🙁 It just wouldn't let up her - I did peg it on the line and left it while spitting but the breeze was gone and it was in for the day. Will try to get a small wash done for tomorrow and hopefully get it out.

Bolognaise made for the freezer - added some lentils of forgotton about and got 8 portions all split up to freeze. Going to make a chilli tomorrow while I have all the bits in.

I love the holidays and having the kids around, I love the lazy days and really try to cherish it while they are young. Yes it's hard and yes I have limitations but I will always knock myself out so they have a great time.

Me and DH were supposed to go out tonight but we came home after an hour as I was so tired after having my treatment yesterday. Sat in pjs having a take away now as a treat.

I love this thread as I'm happy posting about my life and feel there is no judgement. Keep plodding along folks xx
