Prinzess Hi I've been wondering how you and mum are . I knew you'd be back into the crafts and no doubt planning the shoe boxes now . It's seems time flies , it doesn't seem long since you were doing the last lot I agree with you and Tink . No doubt I'll regret saying so in a few months but right now I'd welcome shorter days and blankets and throws . I can't really track how long I've been doing things in the summer as the days are so long but love settling down when dusk arrives earlier . I hope the floods didn't come your way .

maddie A good nights sleep makes such a difference . Well done with the PT . I could probably benefit from some myself . I did Hatha yoga for a number of years and it really helped both physically and calming the mind .Even if I could safely reach the floor now I doubt I'd get up again ! I can't remember when I last made jam . Mind you I don't use much . When we were all at home much Jam was consumed .
Wishing you a restful night .

Exhaustion seems to be one of my biggest issues at the minute. I have to plan what I'm going to do, whether that's cooking or cleaning - thankfully, I pay someone to do the majority of this as I just couldn't manage it all, plus my children help, especially when I am working to a deadline. It's all one giant balancing actThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0

Dear Caronc I'm still hoping the meds will do some good but maybe come October they'll have to come up with something else . October seems a long wait after the weeks already gone .
Hopefully it wont be too long before the early retirement is finally sorted .
Well done on going through with the appeal and getting the fair mobility award . I very much agree about impact being so important . Along with all the other stuff . The medical support letters were any addition to the other stuff and all emphasised impact .
It's been a long and tiring day and really hot after the cold miserable days recently . Tomorrow is all the usual Friday multi tasking .
LW Lavender is wafting in your direction and I'm sending the sleep vibes .
I've just realised I'm typing in the dark and need to put the light on .

Hi to you too. :hello: It is getting dark here and I still need to take in the laundry I hung outside. I did get someone to help me clean the house today as family are coming over for the weekend.
I even managed to drag the wheelie bins and recycling bins behind the back garden fence so the drive is totally clear :j
Not had a diagnosis of knee pain yet and it was really getting me down so I did a google and found something called "bone broth" which is supposed to be helpful. I made a chicken broth with bones in the meat on Sunday and a broth using veg and pork ribs the following day.
I suppose it could well be a placebo but I am starting to feel much better and have a lot less pain and stiffness. I am even considering contacting our local butcher as it is difficult to get meat with bones in at the supermarket.
Decided not to mention the idea to family but just say I want to get back to a more old fashioned style of cookery as I don't want them to think I have lost my marbles."This site is addictive!"

Elona I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to stop and think lest the offspring think I'm losing it ! Apart from the youngest they've always viewed me as a bit alternative .
I think it's could to try things that can't harm but may do some good , even if it's all in the mind . Glad you feel a bit of relief knee wise , every little help .
You're wise to seek a proper daignosis but something that really helps me , my youngest and many others is Perskindol Gel . It's natural swiss herbs and is made by Potters the herbal people . There products have been available for years . If you look on the Am*z*n site you'll see it there along with lots of reviews . It's good from the neck to the feet and it helps my joints and muscles a great deal .
I don't buy from the main site but one of the sellers who usually have a double pack deal as well as single . One for me and one for dd and free quick delivery too .
My spelling has gone to pot ! Time to think of bed .
Have a lovely weekend with the family and hopefully some sun .
Sleep well

Elona - Dr Michael Mosley advocates bone broth in his book The Clever Guts Diet and I believe in some of his other books too. (If you have not come across him, he is the Dr who has had several BBC TV programs and books concerning health, diet etc,) everything seems to show scientific research to back it up. I bought The Clever Guts Diet book because I suffer from IBS and I have found research from world renowned professors which validate some of the areas that interest me. So not "new age hippy stuff" at all:D
I have not tried the broth yet, but do shop with a good butcher, so should be able to get hold of bones when I get to make it.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
I had heard of Dr. Mosley but had not picked up on bone broth in that connection.
Interesting that the Victorians were great believers in the benefits of beef tea for invalids and the well known tradition of chicken soup for lots of ailments.
Thanks for the info, I feel less "flakey" now."This site is addictive!"

I have been reading this thread for a while now as I have had a lot of symptoms like joint pain and tiredness and I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I've not had much help from my GP so far apart from antidepressants to help me sleep so I have read a few books on the subject. I'm taking lots of supplements like vitamin D, B12, magnesium and calcium and zinc.
Does anyone else on here have this condition? Any tips?
I called up about my state pension forecast the other day as I need to make National Insurance Contributions for a few years I missed and the woman on the phone was generally chatting to me and said I could claim PIP (I think that was the name of the benefit?) for fibromyalgia.0
