Hello all . Well I think I peaked too soon a couple of weeks ago posting here :D Sorry for going missing . I have spent a lot of time over at the garden fence . The tough threads were always the ones I followed through all their incarnations and I think became a bit rooted to the spot in the last few weeks .
I want to send the very gentlest of hugs to our dear LW. I know lavender isn't the answer to deep rooted damage and lack of restful sleep but you are always in my thoughts and remembered each evening at candle lighting time . x

I need to read back a bit to remember where we were all up to .
    Back in a while .

    Thank you Pollyanna x

Well, what I'm up to is Mia the Staffie had her first stay here, and was a very good guest, and now we have Fudge, a little chap, a cross between a Jack Russell and a Chihuahua; he had a bad start in life (abusive owner) but now he's with a family who love him to bits and are working through his issues; and he is also being a lovely guest, very playful and cheeky. :D

Good to see you LW and lovely to read of the happy outcome for Fudge . I did spot Mia had been . I admire you so much for the love and care you give your guests . I imagine it's good therapy for you too but it takes strength and courage to deal with the initial process with new owners coming into your sanctuary .

Hi Polly and other posters, I have been meaning to pop in here for a few days, but have spent too much time watching the athletics on TV every evening and not caught up with some threads.

Plodding on O.K. gradually decluttering the house and doing odd bits in the garden, OH is a star and is helping me with both lots, so gradual progress is being made. I have no problems (now) with letting go of stuff that I no longer use/wear etc, it has always been about the low energy, but I feel month on month the energy and my physical strength are improving, and I believe that with every unwanted/unneeded thing that leaves a wee bit more energy comes back to me:D

I read and sometimes post on a couple of other threads and I am sad that so many people are having a tough time, or have had there lives blighted by past events and bad people:(

Miss Border Collie stays with my best friend and her OH when we need to go away without her and is loved as their own, a cute Westie, who also stays with us from time to time, but I would love her to stay with LW if we lived near her, she sounds such a caring doggie temporary mama.

Hi maddie Glad your feeling a bit more energetic and well done on the decluttering and clearing . I always loved and hotly defended every last bit of my stuff . Now my mindset has changed and after all these years can view most of it as the barrier to actually doing to what I want to do and using the things I really love .
It's taken years to change my view of it and I think of all those years I literally carried the weight in my head and felt it all weighing me down . Such a waste .
It will take time but things are leaving now bit by bit and I look forward to light and space and a lot less dust .

Well the holidays are in full swing and these kids have me wiped out! It's smallests birthday this weekend so a little party at home for him with some friends round too.

Trying to make the shopping stretch as it's a long month with a lot of money paid out so we are struggling a bit, we are getting by tho as I have made some stuff for the freezer so we are managing for now. I hate having to scrimp but we have paid out nearly £500 this month in vet bills and a holiday payment so needs must!

I'm really tired this week so trying to take it easy a bit but that's easier said than done! Mini wins today is 2 loads of washing done and hung on the line to dry! The dishwasher has been ran and emptied and I've managed a little bit of gardening - just watering and re potting some plants but nice to get them done.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer - date I say it but I'm ready for dark winter nights and soups and stews!

Evening all....the heat had cooled down briefly - and left us with thunderstorms and flood-warnings!

I woke up on Tuesday , feeling a little more energetic - and managed to get a full load of laundry washed and dried (in the tunbler) before my body decided that I was expecting too much of it and collapsed in the armchair for the rest of the day!

Being chair-bound has given me a chance to do some work on my Christmas Cards....way to look for a silver-lining!

I also found I had almost forgotten a birthday - and a family member is movong....so I needed two small gifts....thankfully there is Amazon who can deliver lots of gifts the following day!...I DO have a diary with important days written in, somehow the birthday slipped through the net.

I'm looking forward to Autumn too Tink...loads of lovely comfort food....plus Strictly and Bake Off on TV!

A lovely day here today and I have had quite a good day too. I slept through with no bathroom visits nearly 7 hours sleep, what bliss.

PT session went well, one particular exercise was tough, but I managed it without straining myself. This afternoon I prepared the Damsons that we had picked yesterday (from the hedgerow:D) and made one batch (4 lbs) of jam. About to eat an easy supper of salad and breaded haddock and then crash in front of the TV and the athletics.

    Take care all. x

    Hello everyone

Good see everyone is still pootling along:).
No change here, I've not adjusted to the new meds as hoped but will perservere until I see the specialist again in October! Ill Health Retirement application is still outstanding so I'm still in limbo. On a plus I was awarded the mobility element of PIP on appeal despite representing myself. (Mainly because CAB don't operate here and I don't meet the criteria for council welfare rights support). The tribunal were lovely, really made me feel at ease and only asked one clarification question around Vestibular Rehabilition Therapy. My advice to anyone having to deal with this is focus on the impact not the symptoms. My bank account will well and truly welcome the arrears when they are paid as I'm now on Nil pay. Thank goodness for my rainy day fund - it was always tempting not to put a bit by especially when the boys were at uni but I'm so glad I did:)

    Hi all .
Hope you feel a little better LW.

    Tink
Cake making . I recommend having a look on BBC Good Food site . Google Delia Smith Sultana Loaf Cake first and it should take you to the page . She wrote a book mine is from 1988 which covers baking well . Plain and some fancy sweet and savoury . Wholefood . Fridge desserts , Flapjacks , Biscuits , Gingerbread Men the list goes on . Even some yeast cookery .
You may all the recipes on the site . I had a look earlier and the paperback version 1988 is available from some good sellers new for around £5-£6 when you include the postage . The sultana loaf cake was the first one I taught the offspring to make as it's so simple . I just wish I had a pound for every one of those I've baked over the years . Good for picnics , packed lunches and with a nice cup of tea .Try to get rest when you can during the holidays , even if it means reading quietly to the children it will be a break from being on the go.
I'm going to reply to each post one at a time as to Quote Caronc I'm " A wee bit wabbit "
