It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Wishing Csarina all the best, and hope she's home from the horse-piddle soon.
LW We seem to share similar basic guidelines . Only two more sleeps and LIzzie will be on the doorstop . Wishing some sun and fun for the visit .
Thanks; though we're all prepared even if it's wet, as I won a £200 voucher to spend at the Xscape in MK a while back; the cinema is excluded as they have their own voucher system, and the activities they have are not do-able by Yours Truly (wall-climbing, dry-slope ski-ing, that sort of thing) so the only thing I can use it on is the clothing shops. So I've bought a ski jacket (beautifully warm - enough to save me struggling into a jumper first, so saves me a spoon or two there) and some waterproof trousers, and leggings to wear under them, and some "snow boots". Even better, it was all in the sales, so I got really good value! I still have about £40 left on the card.:T And Lizzie is a Sprocker Spaniel, so she loves getting wet - and if she can get muddy as well, she's in Spaniel heaven! :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Had a lovely pot of soup today - chicken carcass, skin, and fats, boiled then skimmed & strained; then lentils leeks carrots and barley added. I love making soup, it's like alchemy - a pile of scraps turned into a lovely cheap dinner. Happy :)

    Evening all,
Been another non-day as balance just not playing, though I'm attempting half-heartedly to sweep the floors as they are thick with dog hair and it's bugging me:mad:
No snow here just damp, overcast and blinking chilly, I wish I had some of your soup mardatha can't beat HM chicken soup :)

Hope everyone is snug and warm and looking forward to the weekend x

Cold and miserable here. ...at least weather wise!

Dental appointment went as well as could be expected. No work needed at this time, but one back tooth needs keeping an eye on....so another check-up in 6 months....I am lucky with this dentist, he really makes an effort to understand my foibles and my anxiety! (For anything more than a check-up he gives me aa bite-guard...partly to protect him!!!!...and partly because I combat anxiety by biting!...I even have adult chew-toys at home!)

No squirrels to be seen sadly...there was a steady drizzle, which probably kept them out of sight....thankfully we got back before the real rain came down.

Home made soup is yum! And I still remember in the days when chickens came with giblets, mum would cook rice in the broth she made from the carcass and then add all the chopped up offaly bits...oh I could eat a bowl of that right now!

    Sending happy thoughts for Csarina.

Glad your dentist trip went ok, going to the dentist is just something I can't really manage just now due to the tilting :( (Same with getting my haircut!) Thankfully no issues and if I hit problems they will see me at the dental school with enough valium to knock an elephant sideways but won't do that for just a scale and polish. :)
  • I am home, spent most of the day in bed. Did get up for my supper. Fish potato and peas.

I am feeling much better, yesterday's effort must have been the virus's final fling. Need to take life steady for a few days and then gradually take up the reins again. I have to admit the last few weeks have been a nightmare!!

LOL caronc - how do you manage when you go to bed then? When I'm really poorly I'm glad to just lie down lol wherever it is! In the MRI scanner or the dentists chair!:D
