Tink You still sound as though you're being superwoman . Make sure you're taking good care of yourself too .

I was reading about breakfast flapjacks earlier , they could be a good idea for the childens breakfast some days . You would be able to prepare them in advance .

There isn't any great mystery to baking . There is a list at the top of The Grocery Challenge Thread ( I think thats the right thread )
if you haven't already seen it there are loads of recipes there from OSers over the years both seet and savoury .

I was thinking of you when I was following the reports on the MS implants . DD has two friends with MS and one has already started a little savings pot . She's wisely going to be talking to her medical time and investing further .
She hopes if all seems ok to travel to Poland next year to start the treatment once she's saved up enough .
Not so easy when you have a full life and a family to raise . I see it as a possible bit of light and hope for those with progressive MS .

Prinzess I hope the weather has improved by now . It has been cold , damp and miserable over here on the west coast , but I live in hope .

Have you started the new creams yet ? I can see more changes coming along under the funding problems . Lets hope they work as well or even better than the usual ones .

I do agree with the comfy chair . My sofa and armchair are very comfy with high backs and wide arms . The problem is they are now too low . They were expensive and suit the able bodied . Once you get down the sofa is bliss to lie down on but the getting down is a bit of a faff .

I'm now 3 years into the perfect chair search and it's proving difficult .

DD has had repeated bad flares and she's been using either her v shaped pillow or at times her wheelchair cushion to lie on the sofa in a more supportive position and it's worked quite well .

I always wish you'd start a soup thread when I read about your soups some of them make my mouth water .

As for knittimg dd started a super chunky hat for one of my Christmas presents . It's currently a work in progress due to the viruse and flares . She had hopes for mothers day but didn't manage it to finish it . it will be worth the wait when she does .

3 minutes to Earth Hour so I'm logging off , shutting of the electrics .
The candles will be sending love and light to all posters and readers .
    Take care all

On the subject of sprays have you ever considered one of those that cover your roots ? I only briefly flirted with hair dye years ago but I know a number of people who use various cover ups to cut down on the whole dye faff .
I'd still need Mr Wolf to do it for me as I can't reach up high enough to do it myself - also either of us with sprays of any sort = not a good idea as we both spray the product anywhere except where it's meant to go. It's not a problem if it's a trigger-spray of dilute Stardrops, but might be more of a problem with a product that's meant to apply colour. :D

Still, 'tis done now, and all a respectable shade of red once more. The worst bit is waiting for the colour to take - I can't even sit and read, as obviously I can't have my spectacles on, and I can see nowt without them. :D
I will make it clear she can attend the appt at the centre but it is not going to happen in her safe place .
Stick to your guns. Surely, if it's your house, you get to say who can and can't come through the front door?
When they wanted to send the CMHT people round to me, I said No, I didn't want my home invaded by strangers.
I won't even do online grocery shopping for the same reason - I don't want anyone coming to the house unless it is Strictly Necessary.

Roll on Wednesday - I can't wait for the two Cavapoos to arrive now.:o

Wolfy I was thinking of the time involved in colouring but if you're both likely to spray beyond the roots it's neither time , effort or possibly money saving . Better to sick with what works .

When I phone tomorrow I wont be taking any prisoners . They never did anything but damage in the past and with the service in special measures I can't see there will be more than ticking boxes and nothing helpful to offer .

The psych who did the diagnosis has passed her to CMHT and she doesn't need them . Just a case of going through the motions to establish the appt wasn't ignored . There will be a follow up recorded letter to them after the call confirming what was discussed .
When they've spent 20 years claiming there were no records for all the years she was either admitted or attended appts . They can see a copy of my reply tomorrow if they doubt it in future .

A long way to go but nobody is taking the sparkle out of dds eye . It's her life and her choice of what's helpful and what isn't .

Re the parrot in her head . On Friday as it's been the last few sessions it was examining how dd thinks and sees herself . She's always felt she was wrong and mentally judges and pulls herself down .

After her appt she mentioned the parrot . It's noisy and nasty and keeps on at her of how awful she is and how others see her .
So it's a question of shutting up the parrot .
She asked me how I would do it and I said as it was so appalling I would kill it . Not good from an animal lover .

She'd said the same thing but her lovely counsellor said she couldn't kill the parrot as she would die too . The parrot is the BPD so she has to work on muting the parrot . At the moment it's muffled with a thick blanket while she begins to challenge the the things it says .

It's been lovely and sunny here today not very warm but it's starting to look like spring . Lots beginning to flower in the garden and the birds are enjoying it . Hope it's the same for all here .

It will soon be Wednesday so I hope you have some sunny doggy times .

Tink I meant Investigating not Investing in my post yesterday . I spotted all the typos from yesterday when I logged in .

Glue it's beak together, and tie a piece of string round it for good measure. ;) (Wish I could do this for my own ruddy parrot!!)

Oh wow Wolfy why did neither of us think of that . Doesn't sound as bad as killing a parrot does it ?
I hope you're feeling a bit brighter now , nearly time for the guests . We've had sun and I 've spent some time in the garden . Not very warm but good enough for now .

Hope everyone is beginning to feel a bit better for the increased daylight . Take care all .

^ I do perk up in the Spring, I love the lighter days.:A This winter weather really has been horrible.

I have been gluten-free for about (or over?) 2 weeks now and I'm feeling a lot better. The doctor I look at on YouTube and I read his book too said most people with chronic pain/fibromyalgia often benefit from being gluten-free.

I had heard this from one of my American online friends as she said her best friend has fibro and she really notices when she cuts out gluten. I think it's because if you are gluten intolerent your body has an autoimmune response when it ingests gluten and it can create pain in your body.

Whatever the reason I'm going to try and stick to it as I'm feeling much better.:)

Itisme I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond to your post . I've had a head full of stuff and needed to concentrate to read it properly .

First of all you are right to be proud of any positive action however small you may feel they are . It means you are moving forward one step at a time .

The methods used by you to get through the day music, writing , colouring etc are used by my daughter and others here myself included to lose ourselves for a while and quiet the mind . I admit dd the owner of nearly every book in the world hasn't thought of decluttering though .
Don't imagine she'll be very keen on the idea .

When you feel you're losing track simply writing one thing to do a day will help you feel you have achieved a goal .

I would think of talking to your GP about how you feel . Sometimes just speaking of the things you've spoken of here can help . You wont suddenly be fast tracked into various treatments . Maybe mild meds if you aren't already on them or a change if you are can help .

The damage of the past is one you may feel you want to seek help for in the future . For now I would think talking openly to you GP would be a good starting point .

As for the alcohol you may be using that as a coping tool . It's one of many ways to try to blur the edges and get a little respite from day to day life . It isn't effective but that's one to slowly work on when you have some structure and routine set up .

We're here to listen or to share good things or general wittering , my personal talent . You may fade away as I witter on .

    pollyx

I understand and thanks for replying when you could, and to everyone else who has. That is one thing I used to do and found effective - writing down goals. I still do sometimes, but I used to a lot more, even when I wasn't always successful it was good to do, so I'd like to try and get into that again, even if just as you say one thing (no matter how small) a day. It's all good advice though, and talking/listening helps I find (like writing and reading on here), helps me feel less alone.

Wednesday - who is the doctor you're watching on YouTube?. Do you have some links please? It might be helpful reading and watching.

Primrose - I have read about the gluten thing before in quite a few books, The Fibro Manual being one as I recall.

I was getting pains all down my sides and in my lower back before and have noticed that I don't have these specific pains after cutting out gluten. It's quite amazing.

I do still have pains in other parts of my body (especially my neck and my feet) but at least some of the pain has vastly reduced!:)

I look at Dr Martin Rutherford and Dr Randall Gates on YouTube.

    http://powerhealthtalk.com/

There is their website and they have some videos there or you can just type in Dr Martin Rutherford on YouTube and they have lots of videos there too. They have loads of helpful information.

I saw that the woman who runs Fed Up With Fatigue also likes these doctors as she says in this link that she thinks it's some of the best fibro related content on YouTube.
